Beware of the Telstra scam. Sends SMS with a fake link to put in details. also followed up with a phone call. I am not with Telstra.

Caller: Text messages claiming to be Telstra

SCAM SCAM SCAM. Called Telstra and they confirmed I do not have money owing to them and when I clicked on the link the mobile security software TELSTRA provided me with said it was MALWARE

Scam, scam, scam. I have had several bills emailed with the Telstra logo. DO NOT REPLY

The person claiming this is a genuine Telstra number is lying and supporting the scammers.
Telstra themselves tell me that the number is listed as "FedEx"
This is definitely a scammer.

Received it in a very genuine looking e-mail stating "Your Telstra Direct Debit payment didn't go through". But .... I do not have direct debit with Telstra!!!

Telstra did' not seem too worried by the fact someone is trying to scam their customers, they did not plan to take any action themselves. After a bit of discussion they could only suggest reporting it to scamwatch.com.au.

Although, that doesn't seem to do a lot of good, at from the posts here it's been running for 4 years with the same number, so the Aus government's ability to shut this down or prosecute them seems very weak.

I have this number occasionally appearing on my Telstra account for calls that I have made. Do not even know who the hell they are!!!!!!

Received a realistic email with information regarding a credit having been issued twice by Telstra.
Didn't actually ask for it to be repaid but then offered links to Telstra pay by phone and I swear it was the same teleprompt you get from Telstra using this number 1300 369 666.
Used My Telstra to see what was going on and the account was clear so no issues and no duplicate payments.
Take care - scams are becoming even harder to spot and definitely don't trust links and phone numbers in emails.

Got a text saying my bill was overdue and to call 1300 369 666. I took a screenshot and sent to Telstra on Facebook Messenger and they confirmed it was legitimate. I'm confused about the people who were told it was a scam (and say it was Telstra who told them).

Always confirm in a way you know is legitimate!

Received a t6ext message saying " We have been unable to contact you about your overdue Telstra telephone account. Ensure payment of $156.50 is received by AEST tomorrow, to avoid your services being restricted. Pay at Telstra.com/paybill or call 1300 369 666. If paid, thanks."

Not a client of Telstra! I ignored it, clearly a scam. Disappointing that Telstra don't take action or put out some kind of warning????? Maybe Telstra don't care, maybe that's why I am no longer a client, maybe that kind of inaction is why Telstra have a poor reputation! 😊 just sayin' ☺

Legitimate call advising me my monthly account was ready to view.

won't stop texting me and trying to call! Im not even with Telstra.. Had them call my home phone too, wtf.

This number SMS me the SMS looked legit. Saying I owed money. My account was actually in credit!
It had a contact phone number and a link that honestly seemed legit!! ITS A SCAM!!!

It is March 2022 and over the last few days I have had 2 texts claiming bill is overdue and if not paid my account will be closed. also have received emails from them too.

"Just a reminder of your agreement to pay, due today. To avoid disconnection, please pay at Telstra.com/myaccount or call 1300 369 666. If paid, thanks"

Don't click any links or respond. Obvious scam.

Thank you all for your messages. I had today an email via gmail from <info @ online.telstra.com.au> . The email looks very genuine with all the Telstra logo etc that is where I got the phone number 1300 369 666 from. I checked... the email is SPAM too!!!
