The phone number 1300 265 727 is a real Coles credit card phone number .
Go to https://www.coles.com.au/credit-cards/existing-customers/faqs#hardship search for 'Verification documents' and you will see that the phone number is there. They wanted me to upload my payslip as proof of income. The call I got from them about my application and it sounded very dodgy as they want my security details. They do not need this just to tell me to upload my payslip. So I refused to give them this. They called a day later I asked for their direct number and then searched and found it on the Coles website.

I don't understand why there are others on this site claiming that this is a scam call, because it isn't.

After applying for an increase in my credit limit, I missed a call from someone who subsequently left a voicemail. In that message, they provided this number, and a reference number, asking me to return the call to discuss my application.

Respect to all those who noticed the fact that the last three numbers were different to another number used by Coles Financial Services. Catching that myself, I went online to see if this was a genuine call or not. Sure, I had made an application, however, these days you cannot be too careful, as it is always possible that somehow gained access to this information and was using it in an attempt to scam me.
However, when I saw that there were more than a few on here stating that it was genuine, I gave them a call, and sure enough, 100% legitimate.

I phoned Coles Credit Cards on 1300 306 397 yesterday about an application and was given this direct number.

They got me!! They continued to ask questions. I told them this doesn't seem right. They wanted me to give them other information. Eventually I confirmed it was a scam! I hope they don't have too much details from now.

I thought it was a scam caller so I hung up and called the Coles number of the website. They had record of them trying to call me at the same time as this number and apologised for the call disconnecting. I do not believe it is a scam caller.
On the other hand, it seems like a scam as they call on different numbers.

1300 265 727 Scammers! Coles Master card scammers. Received a letter with Coles Mastercard and my name and address on this. Call the number and a guy picked up asking for my details. Hung up and called Coles and they have no information on this number.
