Caller: call from someone at the Probe Group on behalf of the ATO

Rang regarding a tax issue with regards to myself and my ex husband. Divorced 7 years ago and have no outstanding tax matters with him... scam...

Have blocked these idiots as the text was sent at 6:28 on a Saturday.
If the real ATO want to harass a broke pensioner, come & get me at a reasonable day & time.

I am a Pensioner, so don't pay tax... scammer.

Caller: Probe Group (allegedly): Phone message & SMS

"Message for Michael. On behalf of the ATO, please contact Probe on 1300 171 513, quoting reference number DT6180xxx for assistance regarding an important matter.” Internet search shows that 1300 171 513 is not the number for Probe Group. I called the number and had a brief conversation. I asked for an ATO Ref to verify this was an ATO matter but the ref they gave appears to be a Business Industry Code. It seems these calls / SMS are an attempt to elicit personal information.

Caller: SMS, Probe Group Possible Scam

Got a message from a mob calling themselves "probe group" message was as follows.
"Message for Peter. On behalf of the ATO, please contact Probe on 1300 171 513, quoting reference number DT6180xxx for assistance regarding an important matter.

I have read this is a scam however it was to call a slightly different number.
I believe my tax is all in order.
Has anyone else had the same experience?
