We recieved a call from a "Elena White" at this number (08) 9468 9686 claiming to be from Telstra saying that there were malicious downloads from our internet account. I called Telstra direct and they confirmed that this is a scam.

"So called Telstra Technical support reps ultimately trying to gain remote access to your computer in order to gain access to your identity, money, extensive collection of "lolcat" photos. They are also trying to get a $10 fee for a "Technical Specialist" to fix something to do with your internet connection or they will disconnect it for 2 months.
Do what I did. Lead them along and then laugh at them as you hang up.
OR you could let them access your computer AND give them $10. Your call!"

This is true, we had two members of our community fall for this scam. Losing $500 each.

SCAM

Said to be Telecom New Zealand calling from Auckland.
Under the name Elena White- Unsure of spelling
I.D number DL201

They said they want to disconnect my internet, I told them I am already thinking about chang my internet provider. If they offer an Internet disconnection I will take their offer and I ask them to refund my Internet plan haha
