Said her name was Stacey working at a Lawyer's office and said my phone number came up as important to someone who had had a car accident. I really couldn't understand her very poor sentence structure, so I asked 'who has had an accident' and then she hung up on me. I know it was a scam caller, but what if my dear old mother got a call like that, she could have a heart attack worrying that a loved one had been in an accident.

Had a call from this number. Did not answer it. I have a silent number and they should not have my number!

Had a call from this number today - and all I got was silence and then who ever was on the other line disconnected. Is it isn't even a "scam' - or just someone being a bloody nuisance?

Just received another cold call telling me that I'd been involved in a car accident. When I told the caller that I owned 5 cars (which I don't) and I'd like to help her if she could give the car registration details. She kept repeating the same line and wanted to confirm my personal details. I said I'd have to put down the phone and get my registration papers. I left her hanging for 20 minutes. She stayed on the line. I then told her that because she'd wasted my time I thought I'd waste hers. I followed that up with her company must think Australians are complete morons to fall for the scam. She got abusive. I laughed at her. She hung up.

Got the same call from the same number just a few minutes ago. Told her she was a scammer and I hadn't had an accident and to bugger off

It appears to be a waste of time reporting these numbers, as I have read a comment re reporting the same issue from this number in May this year and I have received a call today. What else can be done to stop this??

As with other calls. Person called brian stated he had been given my number at scene of accident..wanted me to pay compensation. Not happening
... clearly an indian call centre.

SCAM - Car accident /scenario - Dont be fooled

So i have just recieved a call on the work phone by this number. after i have introduced myself they hang up. The phone companies need to do something about this. It is just getting stupid especially when you call the number back and it is not in service.

An Indian voice said she was calling me because myself or my family has had a car accident and they want to handle the claim, I told the person I pay for a silent number and that her call was being recorded and will be reported to the ACCC, she hung up, I would like to know how these morons get unlisted silent numbers, my guess is because all of our private information is going off shore, I will be taking this up with by service provider, I am not very happy.
