Called me up, said he was calling on behalf of Optus. Said he was trying to save me money. Had no idea about my current plan, tried to guess my Star Sign (weird) and got it wrong, asked if I'd been offered 6 months free Netlix to which I replied no, and he awkwardly said good bye.

Same, no one talks & they hang up after a few seconds. Background is noisy like a call centre.

Had a call from Optus offering to save me money, advising that "the call would be recorded for monitoring purposes". I said no thanks and hung up. Since then, I've received several nuisance / harassment calls from this number (08) 9289 2045 where the caller doesn't speak & just hangs up. I've tried calling the number back, and it goes to an unmanned voicemail for NTC voice solutions... if you need to speak to us, call 1800 283 174. This number identifies itself with Optus, so I'm putting in a complaint to Optus, asking them to investigate which staff member is harassing me, and what they're doing to deal with it. And if I'm not satisfied, will ask them to let me out of my plan so I can move to an alternative provider.

Same is all the other comments, feel it's a computer to check if you answer. I've since blocked it. 3 calls within 3 days, enough was enough

Biggest scammer. He knew my name, number and address (minus house number) he asked for my date of birth which I refused. I gave him my email to send details which apparently he said was correct to what he had (I doubt it) he sent me 2x emails punctuated incorrectly and stating he had me signed up to a new bundle which if I wanted to cancel to click the link.... A big scammy pot of protentual fraud.

I have received close to 40 calls from a private number since 6/01/2016 and then most recently this one, so glad it was commented/posted. Will report to Optus and have already reported to ACCC as a scam, hopefully others have as well and they may be able to investigate/disable permanently.

Called me and left no message, just 30 seconds of dead line on my voice mail. Have blocked caller after reading above.

I recieved a call from this number today 12/2 at 2.23pm (WST). has happened a couple of times and i never answer. Good to know who it is.

Call and said it was from Optus. Talked for like 4 mins and kept asking questions about my plan and home internet. But didn't ask for personal information

keeps on calling me at least everyday.. I just ignore and block it

A week of calls from this number immediately after moving our Optus plan to a new phone. Eventually they left a message asking for me by name. Now blocked after reading these helpful comments. Shame on Optus if it's anyone actually working for them.

Received 5 calls from this number in Sept/ Oct which I did not answer, no message left.

Received at least 10 calls from this number - no message ever left - tried to ring the number and nothing happens. Have blocked the caller now. Thanks!

They had some information (outdated) about my plan, but got some key details wrong. Claimed to be from Optus. I said that I found him highly suspicious given that they'd gotten three things wrong and I hung up. Got 3 more calls immediately after, which I didn't answer. Blocked it now.

08 prefix is also used for WA :)

Received 2 calls from this number in the last 3 days. Won't answer as I know no-0one in SA or the NT.

Missed Call from interstate; rang again an hour later - this time caller hung up promptly
