NTC who work on behalf of Optus - they aren't Optus but are hired as a THIRD PARTY company to promote and manage new and existing Home and Internet plans as well as Mobile plans - hence the "on the behalf of" when they call. They are not a scam. They follow the same process ans use the same systems as the Optus sales team only outbound. Optus has outsourced to this company for years and they also sent an email advising some customers that they will be giving information to third party companies. There was also a link in the email which gave you the option to fill out a request form if you didn't want them to do so. As for the calls and hanging up its linked to a Dialer system. Could be the reason why so many of you have problems with the multiple calls and such. I know all of this because i took the time to look into NTCs website and spoke to Optus as well. Call 1300 300 427 if you want more info from Optus.

Continuous calls from this number including weekends. I do not answer and they do not leave a message. It's just a nuisance.

I have a contact in my phone called "Prank Caller" . I've blocked the contact "Prank Caller" in my phone and I just add the scam callers to the contact. I added this number to the list which now has between 20 - 30 numbers. Very effective :-)

Received calls from this number for the last 3 days in a row, never answered the calls. After reading this page I've now blocked the number.

Told me they we're from Optus and tried to get me to upgrade my plan because I 'go over 4G data too frequently' yet I've never gone over it in the 4 years I've been with Optus. Told me I could upgrade to 10gb of data plus the latest iPad. Wouldn't stop hassling me to agree to a contract, told them my parents pay my phone bill and they would appreciate it if I didn't agree to upgrade my plan. He responded 'like they would care you're getting a free iPad'. Then told him 'okay email me a copy the contract before I agree to anything' he refused to do so unless I agreed to the contract, so I hung up.

The "Opt Out" option on their website is not "clickable".

They just called us. We didn't pick up. Next time I will and start making really culturally and morally inappropriate commentary. Cheers.

Tried calling from Perth, Australia yesterday, I didn’t answer (I rarely answer numbers I don’t know in case of scammers). Called back today and I answered solely because I know people in Perth and thought they may have been trying reach me. NOPE, it was some guy on behalf of Optus requesting to speak to me, and I hung up immediately. They knew my name but seeing as I pay all bills on time, have ZERO interest in upgrading my plan as it’s already one of the better plans and I upgraded last year anyway, and I already have a different internet provider (there is record with them that I’m happy with my provider and don’t want their internet), they have zero reason to call thus why I hung up. Just don’t bother answering and block. ** funny thing is there’s an ad for Optus on this page.
