Same just happend to me..... I answered and the guy goes "hello" n i said hello n he hung up!

Just politely called once and I did not answer. I get that they are doing their job but I do not want calls from randoms. No offence but Blocked!

They have called me everyday since new year so I asked my friends if they knew the call and they all said no. I never picked up until today but they just hung up. If you are have this problem too, just block the caller.

Just got a call from them wanted to confirm my phone number and they had my day and month of birth, I said I had a customer and hanged up. How do I put a block on this number ? Thank you

I've had daily phone calls with the same result as all of you. Finally someone spoke to me, asked a few questions about Optus. He gave me my date of birth and asked me to confirm which I did. He asked if I was a happy customer, and I said I was, and that was it. He sounded Indian. Hoping I didn't give away too much with my date of birth!

called me 3 times. i saw all 3, they called and as soon as my phone buzzed once they hung up. i didnt bother trying to call back. BLOCKED

I am really p*** off with Optus - I bought a new mobile just before Xmas using Optus- within 2 weeks I had a call from this number on my phone - I have blocked it as it is so rude to give someone's number out to a call centre. The staff at the call centre are rude to boot. The constant calling is driving me nuts on my landline as well. Give us all a break Optus. We'll call you if we are interested

Several calls over last 2-3 days - my partner passed the phone to me as they asked to talk to me and had been trying to get me for several days. I just heard their noisy "office" background and hung up after 30 secs of no response..

I got a missed call from this number. They didn't leave a voicemail.

They alternate and use a blocked number as well, if you answer the blocked number, then they hang up on you and use (08) 9289 2030 My number is on the DO NOT CALL registry, not that it makes a difference!

They called me last night and when I answered thay hung up. Called again today and I let it ring without answering. I checked the code last night and it seems it is coming from a Perth area

Optus, don't answer. just block the number.

4 missed calls from number over past week, no messages left. Number now blocked

Just got my first call from this number, the person calling had very poor English but did mention Optus before I hung up. I used to get daily calls from a similar number ending with 2045, they are both now blocked.

Called 3 days in a row now, I haven't answered, they haven't left a message.

Frequent Calls then hangs up. Never leaves a voice mail. Blocked.

It isn't Optus who has given them your birthday info, and it's not their fault the calls get through. So many websites / companies want your birthday 'to give you a free gift' on your birthday, some of this data is stolen or onsold to scammers.
Also, I am with Telstra, they can't prevent the calls either.
