Caller: Ebay security Claimed that someone started an ebay acct in my name & tried to buy $200 worth of giftcards to my bankcard details which must have been compromised. If I download an app & enter the code provided, it'll block them & track the theif. The app was ISL Light Remote desktop. The code would have given them remote access to my computer

It was an automated message with an American accent. It went so fast I didn’t really get what the message was but I did hear eBay and $200 but no idea really. Clearly just another scam!

Caller: Claimed to be from EBay Security I received a call from this number today (22/01/2021) on my mobile. Was a computer generated call about an eBay transaction. The call dropped out, so call them back and male answered call. Claimed to be from eBay security stating that there was a suspicious transaction from Russia, $200 worth of Gift Cards to my eBay account and I had 1 hour to cancel it or the funds would be drawn. That if I followed his direction I could stop it but I would have to log into my account. Call dropped out again Rang back female answered this time. No name given. Said same as before. I said this was a scam and queried if they were legit to advise what was my name and address. Unable to provide this. I terminated the call and blocked the number. Watch out for these scammers!
