potential scam or fraud

I don't answer calls which aren't in my contacts and give them the opportunity to leave a message on my voicemail. If they don't, then there's a very good chance it's a telemarketer or a scammer This was the case with this number so the above comments make sense and I've now added the number to my auto reject list.

Number came up as being from Port Augusta. Have an acquaintance there so answered. Person of foreign origin asked questions about solar panels. I asked where she was calling from and she said Adelaide. I disputed this and she hung up. I called the number back and was answered by a young guy with foreign descent. He denied the young woman had lied to me and I said I would report this. I hung up.

people here are so friendly... they say: "foreign sounding man" rather than bloody Xndian....

While I don't know anyone who would call me from an 08 prefix number, I was on another call but wouldn't have answered anyway...
As with other comments here, I don't own a house and having been homeless for a few years have made no enquiries nor shown by interest in anything to do with ANY solar power or environmental products nor anything I can figure would give these people access to my number or reason to cold-canvass me in any regards to such products. I'm kind of baffled how or why they would waste their time calling me in any seriousness so have to conclude these people must be really dumb scammers to even vaguely think someone in my position has anything of any value to con out of me. I don't even have any ID to steal so they really must be as desperate as they are stupid!

The 08 prefix is only used in SA, WA and NT so they most likely were from Adelaide.

Called and asked for my name. then hung up. Would not answer

Caller: Solar Solutions

Man said he was from Solar Solutions. He said the website was SolarSolutions.com. When I asked if the web address had au on the end, he hung up. If you call (08) 8691 9431 the foreign sounding man will answer.

I don't usually answer calls I don't recognise (assuming that a legit caller will leave a message). So I just answered with "hello " several times, but the caller then hung up.
Suspect scam, although the number search comes up with a Ceduna (Eyre Peninsula) location? ...

Caller: Solar Panel Scammer.

Indian guy on the phone tried to tell me - that he was working for the Federal gov. Said that I had to apply for solar panels before 1st of July 2021 - or be disconnected from the power grid.
