Once they have your number they never seem to stop. One of their salesmen called me a liar. I told him to f*** off. They still call.

you need to lodge a complaint to ACCC. you can lodge one online. the more they have the more damaging it is to the company. you need details which generally are on your phone anyway. first of all you need to .. get the persons name and or identification or salesman number if applicable. ask for the "companies trading name" and "any affiliates companies Or Sister companies owned by the same group". note this down. tell them to STOP 3 times. you need to tell them "to take your number off of their call registry including all affiliate and/or associated companies in their group of companies if applicable". Advise them "this is a formal statement of" "do not call again" "as i dont want any future correspondence in any way" "take all information of myself off your databases effective immediately" "also i will be noting this call date and time, your name and company details down and will be stored. if i ever get any more correspondence from your company or affiliates" "i will be lodging complaint with the ACCC." Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. Note: if you have already told them to stop. Skip the bit "also i will be noting this call date and time, your name and company details down and will be stored."and state " i will be hereby be making a formal complaint to the ACCC about your companies failure to adhere to my request to stop calling me" "as you may or may not know the fine is $5000 per individual call you fail to adhere to stop calling requests" " I am making this very clear you are not to contact me anymore in any fashion and you must not act on all of my formal requests" hangup.
i would then go to the do not call registry online and submit your details. this goes into a government database any is public available to companies. companies are required by law to update their for better work sync their call registry with that of the do not call registry frequently as the do not call registry is changing all the time. information in this registry must be abide by, by law not to call. UNLESS it is a company phone, you carry out a business with the phone and they are phoning you in relation to any and all business propositions or matter of business as they see fit to try and contact you. However you can always take down their details and time, number etc and tell them you are not interested in any sale call from their company and to take you details and number off their call registry. advise them any further call will be reported subsequently to the ACCC.
end of the day if every one keeps blocking and not doing the right thing by advising them of your intention not to be called. the market for this will forever be expanding with more and more people being added every day. they will not be held accountable. as no one complains through the right avenue which means no red flags will be raised through authorities of their dodgee actions which leads to no prosecution for their dodgee behaviour and more and more companies are now starting to employ these tactics and guess what . they know they are or can get away with it.
with out presentment no legal action can be taken.

I figured out about two years ago that it was a home improvement company, blocked the number and still to this day get constantly called by them. At least with blocking the number I don't hear them call. Would like to get their personal numbers and return the favour!

Caller: I don’t know This number called me 2 hours after I applied for a Westpac credit card. I expect they’ve given my number away, even though I was declined for credit 😤

Received a call from this number approx 3:00pm on Wednesday 03/07/2019. Missed the call so rang back and it was an automated service for Modern Roller Shutters. How they got my personal number is beyond me as no one knows it at all.

Caller: Modern Roller Shutters. Have called every day for past couple of weeks. Distracting me at work (which almost got me in trouble) and at school. If I don't know the number I won't answer and they never leave a message. The first time I answered them I asked to be taken off their call register and yet I still get calls from them AND their sister companies. I am on the DO NOT CALL register (and told the marketer so) but that apparently doesn't apply for previous customers. I have had work done by them before and it was fine but I have since lost my job and cannot afford any work done (regardless of 'sale prices'), so when the phone rings I'm hoping it's a potential employer but it's only these knuckleheads instead.
