they called me twice a day claimed they were from ATO? But the main point is they didn't even speak English prop, I even couldn't understand what they said, what a scam phone call!

Received a similar call just then, but from (08) 7200 7074, told me that they just completed an audit and i was entitled to refund. Asked for my driver's license and a copy of visa or mastercard. I asked them if they could just credit my BSB and AC which the ATO would have on file...when they said they couldn't i knew it was a scam.

They put me on to Ray Hamilton (indian accent) who works in the payments team of the ATO.....yeah right!

Same ( Indian ) guy again, 2 days in a row. This time he wanted to give me $2433 in overpaid Taxes and insisted i stay on the phone for 10 minutes and wanted to check
my Bank Details were correct. I told him i put a curse on him and that he was SCUM and he hung up.

Called claiming to be tax office and that they want to deposit money in my account. This was the second call from them in less than 18 hours. Thought I'd go along with it and gave them a fake name, bank card details, DOB and then told them good luck with the numbers cause none of it is true. Then told them what I really thought of them. They waste my time, I'll waste theirs.

Ray Hamilton from apparently the Australian tax office ?
He was on an extremely bad phone line in a call centre with lots of voices in the background and had a heavy Indian type accent ?

Caller claimed to be from the Australian Taxation Office and proceeded to try and convince me that I had defrauded the ATO and I needed to pay a huge fine to an account, the number to which he would give me.
