Scam. I was cold called by the English woman who claims she is based in Adelaide. My phone's caller ID tagged the call as from overseas but with the number (08) 7070 6162. Upon some questioning from me she claimed that she is based at 322 King William Street, Adelaide. Google Street View identifies this as an old 2-floor building (originally a retailer called Trims). The call centre sounded rather busy but the 322 KW premises looks to be largely empty and has something to do with flogging appartments.

I very much doubt that the "First Response Team" is run out of 322 King William Street, Adelaide.

BTW, she falsely claimed that I was involved in a car accident within the past year.

have had 2 calls this week from this number about car accident, after personal details, have hung up each time after hearing both male and female callers say "first response" you've been in car accident in last 12 months, looking to confirm details.

An English Man (posh accent) rang on this number today (08) 7070 6172 claiming he was from first response something and was ringing to assist if I had been involved in an accident in the past 12 months. When I wouldn't give him a straight answer as I kept asking him questions as why was he ringing me, he just kept saying they helped with personal pursuits over and over and got quite angry when asked to clarify what that meant. I told him I found it very strange that he would be calling strangers offering help with "personal persuits" IF you had been in an accident? He was adamant that other people didn't find it strange at all. At this stage I told him the jig was up that his company & I use the term loosely had rang me several times over the past few weeks with different people men & women with different accents, same phone number, different company names, but same reason for calling. He said “madam you must be mistaken have a nice day”... I said stop scamming people you scum bag and he hung up. I Tried to call the number back like I had on a few occasions and it was “check the number & dial again.” It is either this or engaged. I think it is a VoIP Phone number. The same number comes up each time but different people with different company names... today's was First Response others have been Australian Accident Assistance.... Others - I have never quite made out. All have known my name so I have never said yes to any question asked. I am sure they are after more details and sure some people are falling for it. Especially when you here a very posh articulate British voice. We are so use to these scams with thick Nigerian or Indian broken English accents (no I am not been racist) just trying to explain how this particular scam is working. So people beware! write this number down (08) 7070 6172 & pass it on to family and friends and Facebook & other social media if you can.

There is such a thing as a 'first response team', however it is for victims of crime in the Western Regions of Adelaide, it is a 1800 number, and you have to call them to access the service. No-one will call you.
I asked the guy who called what his name was, if he was in Australia, and what his number was. He could not answer the last question 'it came up on your phone' pfft. Blocked!

It is sort of a scam. They are trying to get information of people who were involved in accidents and if you give them details they sell the information to Solicitors to chase Insurance Companies.

I got a call from (08) 7070 6172 this morning. I always answer my phone using my name. I'll make a point of not doing so if I don't recognise the number. Like 'MK' said in his post, I've also received a call from 'Telstra' which clearly wasn't someone from Telstra. I know they use Indians a lot but I couldn't understand him at all but from the few words I could understand it sounds like the same scam. I don't understand why the service provider doesn't do something about this but also the authorities. It can't be too hard tracking down these people and charging them.

This number has called me a few times and I answered one call and he said he was calling about an accident. I haven't had any sort of accident so I proceeded to ask him how much he gets paid and he got really huffy and I asked if he sleeps well at night knowing he lies to people and tries to rip them off all day , and he said "How am I ripping you off???.........Well?.....Well?...No answer?" then hung up on me but they have tried to call since then so obviously don't record their failures.
