Definitely a scam call about a car accident......just hang up on them Scammers going on about a car accident. Either don't answer your phone or just hang up on them. Thieves from Indian call centre trying to rip off us Aussies. Scum. Just hung up but I did say ‘goodbye’ politely
Indian call centre could hear it in the background
Same thing as above - indian voip call claiming to be from the accident investigation department and said someone from the address had been in an accident. Ah, no lady. Go away. Female with accent from Indian subcontinent claiming she was from "accident investigation department". Said someone from my number had an accident in the last 12 months. Told her she had wrong number and hung up. pretended to be some govt dept looked at number told them to see taxidermist When I answered the call, they hung up after a few moments :-/ Said they were calling from the Accident Department. When I asked more questions about where they were calling from - she hung up! What a surprise They were trying to say a family member had been in a car accident and were trying to act like an emergency department. Unfortunately for them it was a business phone they called and we don't use cars we use prime movers of which the staff happened to be at base. Beaware!!! Claiming they are calling from AHM Lawyers and also Accident claims Department. They have called my business 43 times this morning, I have just had the number blocked by Telstra before I fly over there and lose my cool "Accident asking detail" i had silence on their end, so just hung up My unlisted number has been called about 5 times over the last few weeks. Tonight was the first call from this number, previous calls were from (02) 4708 3948. Caller had a foreign accent and announced that his name was Peter and said something about a member of our family being involved in a car accident, which is untrue. We told him in no uncertain terms not to call us again. We shall see. scum nuisance scammers worthy of a front row seat in the Bangkok HIlton said someone from this number had a car accident in previous 12mths, I played along. they asked me for details of the person involved. I accused her of running a scam, she denied it and asked to talk to the person involved in an accident again. I said no one had an accident and that I was just wasting her time to amuse myself, she hung up. India again, telling me I had an accident and there was compensation waiting to be paid to me.
Told her I had no knowledge of an accident and she replied that "someone in your family must have been driving your car who had an accident", and I am calling from the lawyers with money to pay you for the damage.
Repeated that no one in the family uses the car......she hung up!
This number has been calling business line and hanging up.
It called a third time and I didn’t answer with the usual business greeting. Caller stayed on line and alleges I have been in a car accident and need to pay for the damage I caused.
Yep, the usual "someone at this number has had an accident" crap. Give it a rest you morons !!!! The typical "Someone at this address has had an accident". This time I just hung up.
I believe that the scammers somehow are able to insert an apparent legitimate phone number into their dialing process, these numbers appear to be at random and are able to bypass the private number blocking facility on the phone. However one number was a genuine person whose number had been hijacked by the scammers. This is a big concern. Don't know if it was by accident or a deliberate "payback".
