played along with the scam until they hung up on me. Hopefully they put my number as non-cooperative. Not recommended idea though.

This number called me and left no voice mail message. From all the comments here, it looks like a scam.

claimed to be from ATO and that my info was used Western Australia, said that I will be arrested. This is scam I only got this new number over the weekend

Still waiting for federal police to come arrest me, this would have yo be the 10th time in the past 4 months, no way it's the ATO because I would have received mail from them , these idiots need to get a life and a real job

I only got a text message saying:

Tax scammer,,, called to number to give them a serve, line busy. pricks

Said they were from the US Treasury Department and that my account was suspended due to suspicious activity. Didn't know the US Treasury was based in South Australia.

Scumbag scammers. The usual out of India. Isn't our Australian Government clever, sending all of our Govt phone/call centers overseas to nice and cheap India. Now they, (The scammers,) know exactly how Centerlink, A.T.O & many other Govt's services operate. We taught them what questions to ask and wonder why the uninformed get ripped off.

I really hate these basteds. After I posted them to the ASIC Scam site, they sent an email to Australian Centerlink certificating my Mother had passed away, this immediately stopped all of her entitlements, locked her bank accounts, and started a full investigation with the authorities. 2 years later apparently my mother has died again. The Dr told us last week.
