Lot of racist comments in this thread :(
This number called me today, around 11am. They even asked for me by name (although mispronounced). I said the person they asked for wasn't home, so they asked to speak to the home owner. When I asked them what they are selling they hung up.

'Tiggi' - No one likes these calls. The reason for me being in this website at the moment is, I am trying to find out where one of those calls came from a few minutes ago. Reading through the comments, yours stood out. Why would you use insulting terms, what does that achieve ?

A fun this to do with Indian telemarketers is say something that insults both Hindus and Muslims, Like "Allah sucks Shiva's schlong". They get furious and no doubt stay angry for hours while you have a good larf and poor another Guinness.

Receive a number of phone calls a day, never answer, use answering machine, but this doesn't seem to stop them. Even had a horn blast over answering machine.

I received a similar call yesterday (28-2-2017). I answered as I noticed the number had rung 3 times during the day. Greeted me by name and asked me what whether I had solar for water or electricity. I answered him and he said that's all he wanted to know and hung up. What are they up to?

Anyone who is an easy target for these Indian fraudsters will be targeted, wether they're(the Indian fraudsters) munching curry or scratching their private parts. All they want is CASH ! There are no solar panels, rebates etc. Perhaps there might be solar panels wedged up their Indian arseholes to keep their d*cks warm in winter !

Tiggy - I hope you (and countless others) don't speak to everyone like this. They are VERY annoying, but they are still people trying to earn a living. I do try to be polite even when telling them I don't need their nuisance calls. Maybe you wouldn't come across as crass if you were at least somewhat polite.

I still live with my parents and this number called me asking if my parents were home and how old I was (at the time I didn't know why he was calling so I said a different age) to which he responded by asking if I was the daughter of the household and when I asked why he wanted to know this information, he hung up.

To Lee - how do you block a home number please
If you want to block nuisance calls like this one, you have the option of buying a phone from a Telstra Shop that can do this, it is called the Telstra Call Guardian 301. Google it or look on eBay. Other devices such as Fritz!Box modem router also have extensive call blocking features.
My phone blocked this persistent scammer today.

As others I received a call asking about solar rebate scheme..... I think they were just wanting me to say 'yes' so they could record my voice saying yes and then scam me for money. I asked lots of questions back as to what company she was from etc ...the line went dead!
