Called me, obviously from outside Australia with such a strong accent I couldn't make out who they said they were. Don't mean to sound racist but I think it's important that when you are making unsolicited but semi-legitimate calls, you are at least be able to identify yourself clearly to people in the country you are calling. I thought it was yet another scam. If the call actually was from Telstra, they are totally wasting the money they think they are saving by outsourcing overseas.

Okay, so I've been getting calls from this number (08) 6228 4190 starting from Monday. It was usually from around 12 to 12.30, but now i've been called 3 times today. I've decided to block the number, so i suggest others do the same.

This number calls our house at LEAST 3 times a day. Sometimes twice in the morning and then again twice in the afternoon at about dinner time. We leave the phone to ring and let the answering machine answer it! They hang up before the answering machine message speaks. We are SICK OF THIS!! Will someone do something about this?

So yeah, got a call from that number: I missed it. Thankfully. So yeah. I've had several calls like these in the past few months and none of them legit. If they call, do NOT give them your DOB. You're just asking for trouble. As for the whistle idea, it's good but I have no intention of breaking the microphone on my mobile.

Their email address for complaints is contact @ tsagroup.com.au
Install a phone blocker from the App Store. I use Calls Blacklist which is free (add supported) and very good. The adds are small, but who cares, it is not like you are sitting there looking at it all day...It blocks calls and keeps a log.
Once you have a log of say a week or so, you can then complain to https://www.donotcall.gov.au/consumers/lodge-a-complaint/ or email them at report @ submit.spam.acma.gov.au (the only direct email I have for them).

Telstra customer

I received a call from this number saying they were from Telstra and may be able to help me find a better deal. They knew my name and wanted my date of birth to confirm my identity. I said I was not comfortable giving my private details over the phone. The Indian man said he understands but he is not a scammer and that I really should give him my date of birth. I kept saying no and he kept on persisting so I hung up. I then contacted Telstra directly and explained what happened. They said they don't ever call customers to offer better deals and do not have that number registered with them. Scammer. Best to never give your details over the phone to someone who has called you, they won't be able to find you a better deal and will keep your personal details
