I keep getting calls from an indian telemarketer on a private number. Claims to represent Affinity Life and Orion and asks me if I have funeral insurance. Keeps saying yes and right st the end of each thing he says. Trying to get me to answer yes.... which I won't do. I am on the do not call register. I have complained to them about this company. Still I am getting calls.

I am so sick and tired of these Morons calling I have barred the numbers they call on private now!! I had to google the company and have found out this way it's a scam to which I had my suspicions any way. They have been bugging me for months now!!!

I had a telemarketer call me today and initially asked for someone with a different name. He then established I was the owner of the number he called and claimed to be from Orion, a Sydney based company. It was hard to understand him through his thick Indian accent but he mentioned something about funeral insurance, to which I said I wasn't interested. He mentioned that he wasn't selling it and only wanted 1 minute of my time. Again I told him I wasn't interested and then he had a go at me claiming that I have already spoken to a female (apparently) for 10 minutes regarding funeral insurance and that I wouldn't give him 1 minute and stated that that was discrimination (lol). He sounded quite agitated and then hung up the call.

I have had many calls from Orion Serve.
I have asked for their Australian Business Number and they could not provide me with one. They claim to represent "Affinity Life", which is owned by "Insurance Marketing Services Pty Limited.

Hi. I can confirm this is a scan. I am the owner of Orion Insurance. We neither sell funeral insurance or use telemarketers. These miscreants have copied my company name and are harrassing people by state it would seem. I can assure you this is not Orion Insurance. I have lodged complaints with ASIC, ACCC and NSW Fair Trading all have advised there is nothing that they can do.

I am having the same problem. I am being constantly harrassed. They are now even blocking their number. I ask to speak to a supervisor. How did you manage to get it to stop?? Have you managed to get more details off them other than they are calling from Orion Serv??

This number called my mobile today and when I answered said they were looking for mrs smith - when I said no mrs smith said sorry - looking for john smith. I said no John Smith here and the person tried to check the number which was some landline number is never heard of. when I said no - asked for my number. I said no. Then asked me if I had funeral cover at which point I said I'm not comfortable disclosing that information to an unknown company or person who was actually looking for someone else over the phone initially. The man at the end of the phone said i'm not trying to sell you anything I just want some information and when I said I was not comfortable as he hadn't even disclosed which company he was or his purpose for needing the information from me he then protested and continued to ask me for it. Long story short the conversation was argumentative and I asked whether this phone call would be recorded for training purposes at which he said yes. He then asked me twice more whether I had funeral cover and both times I said I didn't wish to disclose that at which point he pitched me some bad scripted line about saving on funeral insurance and we hung up. He tried to console me that this isn't a scam and they are a sydney based company - but either these guys are some awful scammers or have the WORST AND SHODDIEST telemarketing front ever - and I will be lodging a complaint with ACCC to make sure "Orion insurance" will no longer be able to harrass the public.

I have been harassed every day from Orion. At times I've counted 6 calls in a day ranging from blocked, 08, 02 & 03 area codes. I've asked to be removed, they continue to call despite hang ups, abrupt language & threats to report their business & list numbers for harassment. Even blocking numbers on an iPhone, new numbers call. There's no escape. Trying to set up call backs for funeral insurance that I've clearly indicated I'm not interested.

I just had another call from these people. I am so sick of them calling. I let the guy speak for a minute and said "I'm single and unemployed" to which he responded "This isn't a sales call. I know now is probably an inconvenient time, so someone will phone you next week." to which I responded "I'm not interested, nor can I afford it! I'm so sick of these damn calls about funeral insurance.". Thankfully he hung up.

I am receiving the same calls on my home phone and mobile - have been on the DNCR for years but still getting calls. I have actually listed all the phone numbers, times and dates I have received calls from these people despite telling them not to call me again - first I was polite and now I just don't answer the phone anymore. They drive you mad - how can they still call us all the time - last nights phone number was (08) 9112 3455, they have so many numbers I can not keep track - will lodge another complaint with this new number. They have so far used 14 difference phone numbers to call me. Crazy

Lodged a complaint with ACMA about getting these calls, despit called being on the DNCR. ACMA rang me back within minutes to advise that they were able to trace the call and will be investigating. All they need is your phone number and approximate time the call was received, and they can apparently take it from there. Here's hoping this makes a difference.

I just had this call so googled the company name and found this page. I told him I had insurance and hung up and he called me back and said perhaps I misunderstood, I said no I didn't and hung up again, he called me back A THIRD TIME! I told him to stop harassing me and that I'd report the company but he told me that the problem was not with him it was with ME! Way to go, I'm sure to listen if he insults me! He didn't call a fourth time :)

Have had a number of calls from Orion asking about funeral insurance. Told them repeatedly that I planned on living forever but they still call. The next step is a referee's whistle next to the phone.

I've had these Orion jokers call me twice today too! There has been a spike generally in recent weeks in unsolicited calls. It prompted me to check my "Do not call" registration and found it is still active. I agree with you Michael that it renders this DNC register somewhat useless.

Received the same phone call Thgree Hang ups then finally answered advised was not interrested in buying anything advised he was not selling anything ten proceedeed to advise he was from Orion Insurance & talking about Death Insurance advised thankyou no thanks & hung up.

WHAT PISSES ME OFF IS WHAT USE IS THIS GOVERNMENT DONOT CALL LISTING IF IT CAN'T BE ENFORCED.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get theses callers numbers & commenced calling them Back at the most inconvenient times ( Meal Times or When your trying to sleep !! )
