Apparently there is a problem with my internet and they are from Telstra. When I asked the Indian lady for her ID and address she rattled them off then I asked for her number to call her back when it's more convenient and she got angry and asked me to stop being rude. I have my own Telstra consultants who ring from my local area. This is obviously a scam!

Had a missed call from this number on home phone. Just like Smicko's comment, when I called back the number was disconnected. Considering the missed call and disconnected message is the same day...makes you wonder how these scammers are infiltrating the phones services trying to rob unwitting people. Are these blokes technicians ?? working within telecommunication industry.

just phoned 5mins ago, claims to be from telstra, when i say we a not with telstra they hang up straight away. This is the microsoft internet scam.

if they were really from telstra they would be able to quote the account number, the IP address number and know who their customers are.

Same as everyone another INDIAN Telstra SCAM, rang the No back (not connected) you have to ask the question who issued this no and why it appears on the caller id screen??.

Indian 1> claims to be in Melb - my phone displays 07 prefix ... so I says "OK Gungadin - put me through to Manager"
Indian 2> female: claims to be the 'Manager' ... so I says "OK Gungadin - put me on to someone with an aussie accent"
Indian Ensemble> torrent of abuse from Indian-accented multiple voices - followed by hangup
Caller: Claimed to be TELSTRA

A person with an Indian accent apparently from Telstra said there is a problem with my internet. I knew straight away it was a scam as I work in IT and told him so and the fact that my internet connection is not managed by Telstra was a dead giveaway to which he quickly ended the call. While it's great that we can share these issues here I cannot understand why this illegal behaviour is still allowed to happen after all what are the authorities doing about this.

These people would be lucky to be called "Pond Slime". They try to lure you to allow them access to your computer so that they can download and embed Trojans, Rootkits, Viruses, Ransomware and other malicious software.
If you have the time, lead them on and waste their time BUT NEVER allow them anywhere near your computer.
When you have finished wasting their time try asking them what sort of underwear they are wearing. Ask for a description of type, colour and other personal questions. that is usually enough to make them terminate the call.
THESE PEOPLE PRETEND TO BE TELSTRA, KNOWING THAT TELSTRA ARE A TRUSTED BRAND.

All the same as the above...internet issues etc, I pretended to be shocked and played along until she got her supervisor to do the next part of the deal which I suppose to be getting into my computer....Michael from Telstra. I gave him the works, said he was a scam, and a wicked corrupt liar and he got wild and blasphemed profusely.
I ended up hanging up!!

Called twice in the space of 2 hours
Tried to keep them (Indian women caller) on the phone as long as I could but these parasites soon realised that I was messing with them.
How are these scammers using a legit QLD phone number and what are Telstra doing about it??

Several Indian sounding people have rung from this number on numerous occasions over the last week, purporting to be from Telstra. The message, I think, is that someone has put a virus on my computer. I told the last one that I thought he was the person that wanted to do that. Could be a scam.

They are at it again: 3/6/2017. Telstra should be able to trace this #.

called at 2:58pm. i answered the phone and said 'hmmm' and then 'sha-dong' (nonsense is good for computers/telemarketers) heard female voice say something unintelligible (perhaps to another poor call centre worker) and hang up promptly. the real question is how do we block this number (and others like it) from calling the home phone...
