Recieved calls from this number multiple times offering a free tablet but only after the first call was from another number offering the same thing 0404 504 404 I'm guessing it's linked as they both have been calling saying the same thing,

Dear Motel Manager

We have not asked to receive any calls from people we do not know. Why then should be have to be the ones 'to do something extra' simply to NOT BE HARASSED.

It is a bit like saying that you Mr Motel Manager have the right to delibersately annoy people unless we bring in legislation to stop the wastage of resources. This type of telemarketing needs to stop. It should not be for individual households or businesses to have to find a way to stop each and every single unnecessary call. If it was a legitimate person simply dialling a wrong number I can understand that and take that but when a household has about twenty different telemarketeers or more getting hold of their number and ringing about things they do not want to buy, it becomes a fullttime job just to prevent these unwanted calls getting through.

I gather you are someone who enjoys annoying people. You must also use this ridiculous and wasteful telemarketing service yourself to get business, yet you have a secretary to misdirect all the stupid unwanted for you.

Why are these people allowed to keep making calls.

It is very clear to me that no one wants to answer these calls - so why are they still allowed to pester people.

I do not answer them, as I have calling number display and I do not know of anyone with their phone area code and they never leave a message as if they were to be a legitimate business trying to personally get in contact with me about legitimate business.

Of what use IS IT to the caller/owner of the telemarketing company, to continually call my number every day of the week, if no one answers their call. What type of job satisfaction is there for the actual person making the multiple calls and only answering the first respondant, then hanging up on four other people. It must be like hitting their head against a brick wall.

I thought governments, countries, businesses, people, individuals were meant to be 'decreasing their carbon foot print'. This silly business of telemarketers and survey people calling multiple numbers at once and harrassing private families and receptionists of businesses has only started since the United Nations has asked countries to reduce wastage and recycle.

I DO NOT WANT STRANGE STRANGERS CALLING MY PHONE NUMBER!

THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS HAS TO STOP!

Call centre asking offering "cheaper calls on my land-line". Claimed to be calling from Melbourne, when quizzed about the 07 number, insisted she was in Melbourne, so I asked about the weather here today and she said she didn't know.

Telemarketer called, said he was from Telstra , when challenged , he finally admitted he was from a different company, I found if I question them hard enough and demand an answer to my questions , they either get very flustered or just hang up. Do it enough times & they leave me alone for a short time. Sometimes it feels good to hassle them back & wast their time like they wast ours

I believe anyone who comments here should wait a bit before commenting after receiving an unsolicited call, and make sure you use a nick name as these telemark-my-donkey-keters (smile) I believe knows about this reverseaustralia.com website and come here even trying reply to your comments, and they can that way know and control whom to target again.

You people are rather ignorant. Telemarketers call upwards of 20 numbers at once, whomever answers first gets to talk them, the rest get an automated message if the call hasn't been disconnected already. Is it really that hard to understand?

And yes, can confirm this is a telemarketers number, add it to a Contact with either No Ringer sound OR send straight to message bank..

Received several call from what appears to be an Indian call centre. Most of the calls were coming up as Overseas private but one did come through as (07) 5609 8660. All calls were claiming to save us heaps of money on our phone bill. Its not initiated from Telstra because they knew I was with Telstra so it must be a marketing campaign that is initiated from another telephone service provider which operates in Australia.
What you have to do is get Telstra or whoever you are with to identify the origin of the incoming call, you will need to provide a date and time and the information should be there in the call records. I doubt the 07 number is the actual number they are using, its probably like a storefront number. Once you know what the originating number is then you should be able to do a bit of research and find out who the company or organisation is that are making these nuisance calls. A little bit more research might even reveal who in Australia they are working for.
If this seems too much trouble send an email or letter to the TIO (Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman) demanding that the number be tracked down to whoever is the initiator in Australia for these type of calls. If he gets enough emails he will certainly act.
If you have a suitable phone you can actually add the number to your blocked list and it will be filtered out and won't ring on your handset.

And yet another today at 12.25pm.
As a business we answer all calls but it's bloody annoying when there is no one at the other end!
I contacted Telstra a while ago about this number and they are powerless to either cut their service or block their call.
If I choose to block this number it will cost us as Telstra charge for this service.

Within 1 hour of being connected, the phone calls started. Up to 5 times a day. I live on a farm, and have to run some distance to receive a phone call, which is for emergencies only. I am very frusted, and have asked nicely and not so nicely to leave me alone. Now I am recieving 2- 3 phone calls a day, with a hang up, after a recorded message says "good bye". I asked one girl if "This is a joke?" and she laughed.. "Yes, the joke is on you", then hung up.
Why is this allowed to occur, with many people complaining?
