claim to be Telstra advising of 'internet hack to home computer' I'm not even a Telstra customer, total scam

www.scamwatch.gov.au Just had the same experience telstra Indians, I reported them to scamwatch every bit of info helps and it only took me less time then the great chat I had toying with the scammer. Hopefully they can get caught and a few pensioners will be saved.

I googled this number and saw the comments so didn't answer.

Caller with Indian accent claiming to be from Telstra, I told him to call me on my land line number. He then asked what the number was, I said "if you're from Telstra you should know it" and hung up.

SCAM! Strong Indian accent and claimed to be from Telsta, when I said no you're not she told me I was a "f**king idiot" and hung up!

I answered but didn't say anything and there was no one there. Think it was scammers

No answer when I picked the phone up, has rung several times before but oes not answer. Very sus.

Yep still at it even tho I abused them last week and told them where to go, these scam artists obviously think we are stupid!

I just got the call from Telstra Windows Technical Department today. It was a very bad line, lots of static and the operator had a very strong Indian accent. I put this call on speaker so that the rest of the office could listen in.
Apparently, I have an internet problem that they will fix. If the problem is not fixed I may lose my internet connection as there are people logged into my machine and using it without my knowledge.
I told him that I did not have a problem and that he was not from Telstra. I accused him of being a scam artist and he aggressively denied this. He insisted that he was from Telstra Windows Technical Department and that I could call back and ask for him by name. I again accused him of being a scammer and that I receive calls from Telstra and other scam calls which are supposedly from Microsoft Windows Technical Department. Either way, I told him you are all scam artists.
I asked for his name and number. He then went on to ask if I was sitting in front of a computer and that he will fix my problem. I responded that the only problem that I had was that he was a scam artist. I then said "you have offered for me to phone you back. What is your name and telephone number?"
He responded that his name is Michael Smith (to which the office erupted in loud raucous laughter). Michael then told me his telephone number is "F", "U", "C", "K" "f*ckoff" then he abruptly hung up.

Still at it today. gold coast call centre. Asked if I was in front of my computer. Said sorry I am driving so F*&$k off,

Phone rang but they would not answer. Therefor I blocked the number

Had two calls from this number. Do they think we are dumb.

Claimed to be Telstra and that there were irregularities on my Internet connection.
Shame I don't have an account with Telstra.....

Tell him Im not with Telstra so he starts giving me a mouth full of abuse ..... lol .....

Indian Telstra scam beware and don't bother answering.

These are Indian scammers, trying to get your computer information to scam you. Just hang up on them, or even better just don't answer the call.

Persistent caller, rang me 3 times, and stressed a hacker getting into my internet. I said Im from optus and said optus is a division from Telstra. I said my computer been broken for months and he said it has been identified back several months ago. Its a total Scam but had difficulty getting rid of the caller. When I rang back the number is says not connected.
