This is a debt collection company called Panthera. They don't care that you are not the person they are looking for. They will change the DOB details on their records while on the phone with you to yours to get a match. They get paid a commission on money they collect and don't care. I have reported them to the police. If they call you don't give out your address or DOB. Otherwise you will end up with someone else's debt

called my husband asking for me, he said "why", wouldn't tell him, saying it was private. Called them back, they say I have an outstanding debt with Comm Bank. I have never had an account with Comm Bank since Dollarmite account at primary school. I tried to tell them they must have the wrong person, but they won't listen. What do I do? They are really aggressive

SCAM SCAM SCAM.. I called back and gave them my reference number and he asked me if i was 2 different people! I told him that I hadn’t lived at that property for over 10 years but my sister still lived there and she had passed on the message! I also made it clear that I had already googled the number and it came up as a scam. He then asked me what was the number they were calling me on! When I told him that he should know from the reference number I gave him he hung up..

Caller: Debt collectors My only advice is do not give out personal details over the phone. I refuse to give these people or anyone I don't know any info. If you do by chance get stuck on one of these calls and they go on about a debt always say 'alleged debt' - never admit to the debt and do not agree to make payments, Also if they tell you the debt is from another company you can tell them you have no debt with them because there is no contract with a wet signature. Also tell them if they were stupid enough to buy an 'alleged' debt off another company that's not your problem then hang up.

Debt collectors: if it’s been >6 years since you’ve had any contact on the debt - or since you acknowledged the debt in writing or in recorded conversations, they no longer have the legal right to chase the debt.
I have one Block Caller listing for Panthera on my phone, and there are over 20 landline/mobile numbers - added over the years - as they try to contact me.

Andy from this 'Qld Company' (he wouldn't disclose the name) is calling our workplace to hassle one of our employees. Trying to pry personal information about the employee from our receptionists.

Caller: Pasqual Pascal phoned me, he knew my name and asked me about my old housemate who I haven’t lived with for at least 6 years. This housemate isn’t living in Aus anymore either. He said he found my details on the public domain but I have no idea how he would connect me to my old housemate in any capacity.
Highly strange.

Caller: Matt He confirmed my name and then wanted me to give a message to the guy next door. I asked how he got my name and number and he said it was in the public domain. I was not happy as I have a private number and am on the do not call register. He got the name right for the guy next door and his house number. I could not figure out how he got my details until after reading these comments I have an account with the commonwealth bank. This is a breach of privacy on the banks behalf and I am going to put in a complaint with the victorian bureau. I did not tell him if the guy lived next door but agreed to give the residents a text he sent me. I have enough proof to lodge a complaint.

Caller: Panthera This is a scam debt collecting company. They've previously been fined for harassing & calling incorrect people including those who are listed on a do not call register. Even if you had a legitimate debt with this company I wouldn't pay it they clearly aren't run well & 99% of the people who call sound about 17. Do not give them your personal details & do not answer there calls simply block every number they call from. I have told them for the last 9 months I am not the person they're looking for & I continue to get 2-3 calls daily. I've reported them twice.

Caller: Panthera Finance You can report them for unconscionable conduct for this I believe, debt collectors have a strict code they are supposed to operate under. The code is available at https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/dealing-with-debt-collectors/what-debt-collectors-can-cannot-do and there is a 1800 number 1800 007 007), I recommend reporting them as the more complaints the better as they will be on notice to act within the code.
