I had a call this morning (12/01/2018) at 9.00 am AEST and, looking at the above comments, I'm glad I missed answering it. But - who I was ringing was actually the DHL company number, which is a 1300 number, regarding a paper letter in the post I had received - maybe me ringing DHL triggered it? Maybe whoever it is has somehow 'clipped' an electronic line to various companies and it alerts them when I/we are ringing the companies, and then that's how they are able to get my/our number that way? Weird. Anyway, I thought it was legitimate, so I've tried ringing that number a few times and always had the engaged sound. I'm glad I thought to look up that phone number on the net - I'm now blocking it, thank you!

Yeh i have got a cl from this # a week ago & still keep on calling me! She left a voicemail saying i've parcel to release until pay the duty. Though they provided a valid tracking # but funny stuff I didn't order anything from Italy & im not expecting any! Called DHL and they confirmed nothing for me. And yeh bullsh*t people seriously?! Scam!

DHL. Not spam. Not a scam, even though it seems like one!

Just received the call from "Suzanne" from DHL requesting payment of $667.08 duty charges for a shipment. Asked for the details of the sender (didn't know who they were), so asked her to fax the documents as our emails were down :) Fortunately I had written down the phone number from the caller ID.
Funnily enough I had used iSelect only a month ago!

yep i agree if not iSelect, they have forwarded (sold) your details to 3rd parties. Ever since doing an online quote for TPD and life insurance I have been getting random calls from insurance companies and this one today claiming to be from Symantec security, trying to collect a debt that i know i don't have.

It is from DHL and I was expecting an Electronics item from the USA . The Duty is about 4.6% which was correct ( you can check this with the Border Security website) . Duty is payable for all goods imported that are valued $1000.00 to $10,000.00 -it is all on their website . DHL then charge about 1.6% for the use of a card online , which is standard practice . I had no problems with them . They are unable to release goods from their Warehouse until the proper duties are paid . It is not a problem .

Legit Number for DHL Duties to be paid. If unsure hang up and call 1300 921 066 instead which is direct to DHL Accounts.

I got a call from this number as well. A guy named Caleb told me that I have fees to pay before the consignment can be released (I was expecting a delivery from the UK). I made payment and looked up the number on Google moments after. Worried that it might be a scam, I called DHL Express (number on their website) and they confirmed with me that the transaction was legit and I got the invoice sent to me as well.

Just got the DHL scam too! Give the lady her credit she stuck to the script, but seems a it unsure about what to do when I told her to keep the "parcel". Had almost enough specifics to be correct... i guess someone has sold my order record from somewhere.

Total scam, same as the others, they called me claiming they are from DHL had the Air Way number and the senders info, clearly from someone inside. FYI if the value of your goods is under 10,000 AUD you don't pay duty...

Lady called from this number saying she was from DHL and asked us to settle a large GST bill for an incoming shipment. We have an account manager who does that usually, they also emailed an airway bill that was clearly fake when we asked for further info.

Hi, I got this tonight too, fake 1300 number to call back, and is the same (07) 3329 6000 number, exactly same story as you said, they new everything about my DHL shipment tracking number etc. Their fatal mistake was that my shipment was delivered weeks ago. They asked for payment for importing taxes, which we already paid. I informed DHL tonight.

I received a call from this number claiming the are from DHL stating our imported goods require $236 duty to be paid. They knew one of the items in our order, they also knew it was coming from the US through DHL and was now in Australia. They wanted my email address and said they would email documents for me to complete. When I call the number back they hang up everytime. BTW no email came. These con artists could be working as employees at DHL. I have altered DHL with this information today.
