It appears a SCAMMER is sending this number as ID to over 100 callers this afternoon. The caller has had over 100 callers who have called him back. He did not make the calls. He is contacting Telstra NOW! for action to identify and STOP the SCAM calls.

Scam caller...just hang up.

Yesterday (25/7) I received a call from a man claiming to be from Telstra. He mentioned a computer problem. There was a lot of background noice, like a lot of other people talking. When I asked the man what town he is calling from, he said from Melbourne; when I asked why my screen displayed a Queensland area code, he said this is an international call. When I told him this sounded like a load of Bull****, he hung up. Then I went onto "reverseaustralia" and the display showed (07) 3286 1227 belonging to Telstr with the registered Name: Petie RH & Petie BE, but no other comments. To-day I see people calling this a scam, which off course it was all along. I had heard the same voice with the same message a few days earlier. What puzzles me is what happened with the previous day's report when I tried this web page. Can anyone explain this? I would ring Telstra; but I don't have half an hour to waste waiting for an operator while listening to 100 automatic messages!!

Someone called from this number twice in two days, saying he was from Telstra in North Sydney. Said there was a problem with the computer etc etc. Don't know how they're doing this but I know it's a scam.
