Thanks for info. Will block. Have just checked calls I have blocked in past seven days -10. Have also had four anonymous. Always have to wait for 'anonymous' to leave a message as a couple of real contacts have silent numbers. Total blockings since I had NBN connected - 224. So grateful for this website.

I never answer calls from unknown numbers but picked up the phone because it was next to me and waited to see if anyone would speak. They didn't, just as they never leave a message. Scamming pests. I was also hoping that as in the old days, if I didn't hang up and kept the line open for the next 20 minutes, the pathetic pests wouldn't be able to make outgoing calls from the number in the meantime. (I'll try anything.) Incidentally, it's all very well for people to advise blocking the number. My perfectly good landline phone, a well known make, can only store 30 blocked numbers, whereas I need 300. Every single time I block a new number, I have to unblock another one that's been used by persistent, scamming lowlifes. And they simply are not going to force me to spend money on a new phone with multiple handsets. There are far better things to do with my money.

Buy a Uniden phone for your landline. The bigger models have call blocking.

I have previously blocked this number however the phone (landline NBN) does show silently if a blocked number has tried to call again, and again and so on. This number has tried to call 3 times in 3 days. Thanks goodness for call blocking.
