COME ON TELSTRA! STOP THESE IDIOTS FROM CALLING.
Its easy for you to STOP THEM DEAD!

Absolutely NOTHING to do with Telstra, number ranges are now a free for all with no control whatsoever, poor Telstra is often blamed for things that they have no control over. Think VoIP numbers!!!

    Scam call
    Australia
A new scammer. First it was a call without a message left, then a second call a few hours later, spouting some nonsense about my filling out a form regarding discount holidays. And if I didn't do it, which I definitely did not, perhaps a relative of friend did. I wasted as much of his time as I could stand, occupied with playing Solitaire at the same time.

    Scam call
    Australia
Caller: Apparently company name is Travelspot Australia

Same as previous comments, I apparently filled out a form earlier in the year (don't remember it) and he was calling me Mr XXXXXX, which is my wifes maiden name. LOL. Kept him on the line for ages waiting to be asked for my credit card # which eventuated. That's all they are after, your credit card #. Offered to pay by other means but this "promotion" was only valid for Visa & MasterCard. How stupid do they think I am? These types need to be hunted down & shot on sight!

    Caller: Name indistinct

Started by saying he was from some indeciperable company name, calling from Queensland, then said he was in Sydney. When I questioned why he said he was from Queensland, he hung up.

Dropped out after only a few rings. Judging by earlier comments, it seems to be a robot call.

    Scam call

Says he is calling from a travel company, the name of which I couldn't understand but didn't sound anything like the few companies I have dealt with. Hung up and added the number to my call block list.

As above. Rang at least a dozen times on a Saturday and something tells me that's not it ... Tomorrow better not be the same.

Why can't the Australian Government investigate the use of scam phone numbers? Using a national communications system to deliberately disrupt individuals peace & privacy is a breach of the Communications Act isn't it ? Is it only whistle blowers that warrant investigations ?
