Caller: Not sure ... maybe Ebay ???

Have had a number of these nuisance calls. They claim $249.00 has been debited to my credit card. It asks us to call back but the call diverts to +39507849885. Scam. Fraud.

The caller claimed he was from EBay and that a scam had taken place via ebay from China for the value of $249 from memory.
He explained steps on how to set up my phone security so this wouldn't happen again. I got to a stage where a password was given via my android.
He has received the password which now makes me very nervous.
As soon as I entered authorised I listened to my gut and tried to get out of it.. I then hung up on him and the poorly spoken indian accent tried calling me back another 2 times.
I have later called back & of course no ring tone.
Definately a scam :(

Caller: Automated Message claiming to be from EBAY

Similar to other posts; automated message stating my purchase for $249.99 had not gone through and press 1 to resolve or call (03) 9005 6447. Definite Fraudulent activity.

Automated message saying $249 used from my ebay acct and to press 1 to speak with someone or call another number to discuss. THIS IS A SCAM CALLER - I DONT NEED TO PRESS 1 OR CALL THE OTHER NUMBER TO KNOW THEY WILL ASK YOU FOR YOUR ACCOUNT DETAILS SO THEY CAN STEAL FROM YOU. BEWARE OF THIS NUMBER AND THESE TYPES OF CALLS

Any caller I don't know I quietly say "hello ..." and then just wait.
It doesn't take long and they hang up; it works.

I have been receiving same call for last 1 week saying, I have a $249 Ebay transaction. If I haven't made the transaction to call back and advise to cancel, otherwise they will direct debit. However, they didn't direct debit in a week.

This is fake. Don't call back and block the number.

SCAM: They told me that my eBay account (which I don’t have) was overdrawn and that I have to pay $500 to avoid “the sherif” coming to arrest me. Caller had Indian accent, poor English. When I challenged them, they hung up.

I had 2 calls from this number 3040 1887 on my mobile. They hung up when I answered. When I tried calling the number back there's just beeping sounds. So I blocked the number on my phone. I suggest you do the same and block it!

Caller: Claimed to be from eBay

When I answered the call, there was an automated message letting me know that I had purchased an eBay gift card to the value of $299.99 and if this wasn't my purchase to ring another number or press 1. The first time they rang I pressed 1. Pressing 1 sent me to a noisy call centre where it was almost impossible to understand givien the background noise and the poor audio quality. It sounded Indian from the accent. The person who answered the call thought I was calling from a number starting with 08 (not my number).
When I was able to, I contacted eBay directly. There had been no activity on my account so the call was a hoax.
The scammers tried calling again several times the following day.
