I never gave these people my number. Nor do I owe any money to anyone. They keep ringing and ringing and ringing. Looking for someone I do not know. I tell them and then they ring again and again. Last time I told them I was taking it further as it was harassement and they ignore and still keep ringing. Now I do not answer. But any body in business would know if their staff are waisting their time ringing a number they think is somebody and is not. What a time waist. They must have a lot of money to waist it.

FRACTIONAL RESERVE BANK!

When a lender credits your account with a loan amount or provides you a credit card, they aren't actually taking any funds from their "vault" then depositing into your account. With a few key strokes on the computer, they are literally adding numbers to your account, and thus creating money(fiat currency) and also depreciating the value of your dollar in the process. You then go out and labour to give them the $ you "borrowed" along with more labour for the interest on top. Did they labour to give you that money? or did they in turn labour with the same time and energy with their service for the interest? Me thinks not.

With your valuable signature, you then grant them permission to create more fictitious money for loans to others, based on your promise that you will give them the money back, and that they only legally need to have a fraction of that promissory note, not the cash (10% roughly) to then loan the other 90%, which they will do over and over and over again. So ultimately your signature (most valuable thing any of us posses) is worth a LOT of money to the banks. Where's your cut?

Collectors can legally say anything they want, anything. But that's all they can do, speak. They have no power over you unless you CONSENT. The collection company's (third party) have even less power than the original lender, who had now power. They may send you demand notices, each with a different name at the bottom, the name of the computer that sent it. Because no actual living person will sign their name to a harassment letter, as you could then issue a corporate lien against that individual (unprotected by their employer) for damages caused by their harassment. Or maybe you'll get a letter from a lawyer at "BlaaBlaa Court House", looks serious right? You better CONSENT. Nope, just one of the great services provided to lawyers by a courthouse, nothing more than a fancy official looking letterhead, with about the same amount of power as the collector.

Try this interesting little anomaly when next unknown number calls. When they ask for 'MR JOHN DOE", say my name is John (your name), my family name is Doe(your family name), how can i help.. They will most likely reply with "Is MR JOHN DOE available, you then repeat, my name is john, my family name is Doe, how can i help. they might say "well, do you know where we can find MR JOHN DOE, repeat, my name is john, family name is Doe, How can i help. They might say "they don't understand" and will possibly try asking in a different way, which you reply to with the same previous response. Eventually they will say "ok, we will find a different way to contact MR JOHN DOE" goodbye
Weird huh. discovered this one a few months back. They can only talk to the one named on their contract, with the title MR MRS etc. God tell us not to take titles or address anyone by title. Gods bible is what true law is bound to, "Common Law" the UNMOVABLE FOUNDATION of our laws today. Whereas corporate law is a completely different and very destructive beast, to which we need only deal with if our contract with them is a fair one, with all of the information disclosed and out in the open on the table, so that both parties can then consider the mutual value each receives is fair, which they can then agree upon and sign their contract, witnessed by another. ONLY this type of contract is a valid contract! Not a UNILATERAL contract (VOID) Collectors can change that contract all they want, it doesn't apply to anyone. And the fact that, when you took out your loan, the banks did not DISCLOSE to you where the funds come from, or that you where the one creating the money. That seemingly large piece of disclosure, makes that contract null and void instantly. Coz if you knew that information, you would hardly think that it was a mutually fair contract.

Believe it, Or not.
Research yourself.

I too have received calls such as this looking for my next door neighbour. Another neighbour on the other side of the one being looked for has also received calls. How do they get our mobile phone numbers to do this? They are obviously linking our proximity to their target with our mobile numbers! Our approach has been the same. DO YOUR OWN DIRTY WORK AND DON'T HARASS US!

Annoyed, they can garnishee your wages, but they have to get a court order first. You also have to be earning a certain amount of money before a court will garnishee your wages. They will tell you anything to get you to pay - they think you will lie in a ditch with embarrassment if your employer/friends/associates know you owe someone money. I was threatened with my wages being garnisheed about 4 years ago and they did nothing - I told them if they garnisheed my wages I would quit my job, so they wouldn't get anything anyway.

Know your rights

Obviously Lion Finance posted the above rubbish in order to overwhelm and intimidate people. They are trained to be rude, pushy and especially to tell lies. The post does not tell people their rights just the rights of the blood sucking parasites that make up the employ of Lion Finance. You can go to the Credit Ombudsman you can go through Lion Finances own dispute area and Lion Finance cannot do anything while these processes are occurring. You do not have to take their disturbing calls, you can tell them forcibly that you will only deal via email or letter thus avoiding the calls your colleagues at work may pick up. They don't like it which makes it even more satisfying. Finally, when your debt is paid and you get an email saying they will never call you again BE AWARE that you will still get a call every week from them - I just laugh when I see the number appear and let it ring out....... WHO ARE THE MORONS NOW????

(07) is not Adelaide, it's Brisbane.

Got a call from them, they wouldn't tell me who they were, just debt collectors. Unless you as a company have something to hide, I'm pretty certain you have to say who you are.

Since I'm not allowed to know who they are. All they could say was "We're based in Adelaide".

They called on (07) 3017 3999 and told me to call back on 1800 708 124. Both of which are QLD numbers.

So the key to any phone on your private phone is the answer.

When you pick up the phone be nice and say hello, how are you doing, drag the intro out a bit just to get a feel for their voice, everytime you answer & don't know the number.

When someone asks for you name, straight away ask them who is calling before you answer, cause if it is something like a job interview or the like they'll identify themselves, who they work for etc.

If they don't then you know it is a debt collector.

Now in this day and age security is a problem with people phishing for private details, so before you go any further and confirm name or date of birth etc, demand they say their full name & who they work for - They'll say they can't for privacy reasons, so you say the some for privacy and security reasons.

Easy.

However, if you get caught out, demand proof you have a contract with them, demand proof of purchase for the debt by providing how much they purchased the debt for, which is often much less then you owe before you agree to make any repayments.

They bought the debt, their risk, not yours.
