Got sucked in to answer this number. I will now be reporting it to the 'Do Not Call' Registry.

Give me your number and I'll ring you and annoy you multiple times a day. All in the name of a survey.

they rang me today I just said not interested & hung up & then added it to my blocked calls. Seems even mobiles are not safe mind you if I don't know the number I usually ignore the call & if they leave a message I get back to them

Phoning daily and leaving no messages. So grateful to this website as I only give my number to select few but specialists have me as a back up for my husbands health. This saves me trying to phone them. Thanks to you all

Had been receiving calls from an interstate number for days (I'm in Perth). I blocked that number and then the following day this number started calling too. Seems as though these people have multiple numbers. If you block one, they call from another. I agree that charities etc should have to abide by the Do Not Call register too.

Had a call yesterday at 6pm I told the person if they called again it will become a police matter of harassment, these people can be charged with this if they have been told not to contact your number, as I have had another company do the same thing from Melbourne. It is a criminal act to harass people when they have been told to STOP CALLING.

Talk about sarcasm, do not call register should be for all callers and include government and caharities

Calling me too, and leaving a blank voicemail. Really, can't you even block their number?? How invasive!

I have been receiving calls from this number on my mobile. They are just wasting their time (and yours if you bother to answer).

In a democratic society, we have the right to choose who we speak to or who phones us on OUR phone - which we pay for. We also have the right to not talk to callers. It is sometimes important to have peace and quiet - or have emergency access to your own phone - and not have it tied up with multiple unsolicited calls e.g. during illness.

Many organisations use another company to phone on their behalf e.g. for donations, sales etc. The calls are often made using a computer which keeps dialling until it gets a "live" response. If you do answer but there is no-one available to talk to you, the computer hangs up and rings you again, and again, and again. If you do talk to a live person, you can request that they remove you from their call list.

There are simple solutions. Use an answering machine. Only pick up after the caller identifies themselves - or you recognise their voice. Tell your friends that you will pick up when they are identified.

Use "call blocking" if your phone has this facility. You can block particular numbers - or all "overseas" - or all "private" numbers.

Consider carefully before you give your phone number or other details to any organisations - as they WILL probably pass them on to other similar organisations.

If you keep doing these things, you will gradually receive fewer unsolicited and unwanted calls as spammers will not leave a message and will eventually cease to call you.
