Employed him hourly for some casual work, he actually worked quite hard and well for a few days.
I then fell for the dying father and various other very well crafted stories.
Absolute liar and very acomplished con man.
I only lost a few hundred dollars.
Many others have lost a lot more, he initially is very convincing, seems genuine and you really want to help the guy out (he allways does that bit extra for you in the first place, THEN works on you).

He's told me that he served in the Australian Army, also that he stood on a live mine in Iraq which shrapnel tore through the side of his face & stomach!, his Daughter Stephanie was due to be married but her fiancée died in a car crash, He owns 3 carpentry businesses in Darwin NT, He was married to an international model who he divorced because her career took her abroad, They lost a little boy at birth, he owns a cattle station.......the list goes on!

None of the stories lined up. I've heard all variations on the details mentioned on this site. The story I got was his wife and daughter both dead, he has terminal cancer, came to Adelaide to die, has a property in the territory with attached mango plantation and lots of animals that he wanted to give me because he has no one left behind. Big love bombing tactics, really intense but made out it was due to not having much time left to live. Shared war stories about being a sharp shooter in Iraq and really good at it. Spoke about the psychologist being unsure whether he was a psychopath or a genius but still giving him a rifle. Beat a man to paralysis protecting a 14 year old girl. "I've never hurt anyone who didn't deserve it" Tales of abusive father and protecting his mother as a little boy. Mother 'died' while I was with him. Supposed experiences of full body disassociation where he blanked out mid conversation, couldn't remember what we'd spoken about and was shaking all over.
During his 'cancer' decline he was in bed unable to move his body and I had to help him get up like he was a rag doll. We were planning to drive up to the territory for one last sunset on his veranda before he died and he was to be buried under the banana tree.

Presented himself as a really loving man with a terrible and tragic history.
The best lies always contain some truth... I feel really sad to have met him, and like everyone else here thank you for this site for confirming what wasn't sitting right with me. I got away before anything too bad happened.

Unfortunately, I have had the "pleasure" of knowing Mark Feichtinger aka Doc Feichtiger since April 2014. He is a compulsive liar and con man, and is DEFINTELY NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
A quick summary of the lies he has told in the last 22 months:
* His daughter Stephanie was killed in a road accident with a road train aged 14, Incorrect - she is alive and living in Victoria.
* His brother Steve dies of cancer in June 2014 - incorrect - Steve is alive and well.
* His niece Alyx was to move to Darwin to live with him after her father's death - incorrect - she was and as far as I still know still lives with her father in Bacchus Marsh VIC.
* He owns a cattle station with 27,000 head near Mataranka - completely false.
* All tales of station living and the personnel on the station - Jess the Ringer, Ben and Tracey the station managers and their 4yo son Cowboy and Mia the station cook are completely fictitious.
* He owes his ex-girlfriend in Darwin who was stupid enough to believe his lies over $60,000.
* He has never served overseas in the Australian Army.
* He has had at least one gaol term in Victoria for assault - possible two.
* He was working at the Beachfront Hotel in Rapid Creek as a yardie.
* Claims to now have a job as Maintenance Manager with H Apartments in Mitchell St Darwin
* Still doesn't have a driver's licence - if he is driving a vehicle it is illegally.
* Basically a compulsive liar.
* Compulsive gambler.
