Complete Scam and Rude. Tried to provide a sales pitch on solar installation. On hearing that the number is on do not call register became rude and on asking to repeat , the company name gave the name of a suburb

The company "cash4company" on the TV series Neighbours on Eleven.

Looked like a legit mobile number so answered. Said his name was Paul Jones and he was from NBN and something to do with my internet speed. Asked him to repeat and spell his name which he did. Asked him for his NBN phone number. He hung up.

Scam callers, we automatically divert them to our "unwanted caller" answering machine and let them try to scam that.

The number was used in tv show The Code Series 1 Episode 5 at about 33 mins in.

They are from 'Global Opinions'. They want to Send You Some Products To Try. Even though you keeo saying "NO!",they keep calling. They also use 0430 244 436 and 0402 279 254, and also Withheld Numbers. There are also other Mobiles, but I don't have them. They are 'Outgonig Calls Only' Numbers, so you can't call them back. Unfortunately, they are a Market Research Company, not Telemarketing: So are apparently Exempt from the Do Not Call Register. I have had calls from all of the above numbers, and Withheld Numbers - often several times a day - and I have Su mitted an Official Complaint to the DNCR Website. But the calls continue.

I doubt it was legitimate, most probably a scam

Offered to send free samples for you to review.
Asked for Name, email address, age, profession and whether or not you are home owner in order to make a profile for you.
Said they will send more information and surveys through email. As i provided an email address that i no longer use, i am not sure about the contents of the email.

Fake number - it is registered at fakenumber.org/australia it is generally assigned to an overseas business trying to appear if they are in Australia. I did not answer as I know 0491 doesn't exist in Australia. When you try to call back it says "number not connected"
