Caller: I Don't Care

What people need to know is that all these calls are aided and abetted by telstra ! They have an endless bank of numbers that these people are given access to, so they just have to make the call then telstra under their agreement just allocates one of this number bank to that call and another call will have another number bank number allocated to it , this is why if you do happen to call back the connection just cuts out because you are calling a non existent number ; and telstra should be ashamed of themselves for that " Profit Over Privacy! " shame on you Telstra! The only other hang up calls you will get "are" actual numbers their the ones that let it ring just once or twice then end the call, the idea behind this is to get you to call them wondering what they wanted and by doing so you have just given them two things they can now overcome the " Do Not Call Register " as you have now phoned them and they are just returning your call ( perfectly legal ) and secondly you have just let them know that yours is an active number so they can now sell it off to a mailing list along with any details about you they have .
SO if you don't know the number and they don't leave messages "BLOCK" the lot of them and tell everyone you know to do the same. 
Legitimate callers will generally always leave some form of message for you. 
And to finish my rant! 
Shamefully enough most of these calls come from the one company that collects for most of the well known charities and for every $1 you donate only about 3 cents to a maximum of 8 cents from that $1 goes to that actual charity the rest goes into the pockets of these annoying " Thieves "

I called back the number 0488 822 497 and reached vm that said I reached Richtell Survey

Thanks Stephen. This number called 4 times this afternoon and each time left no message. Like others I am on the do not call register. My number is currently in the White pages. I am a low volume phone user and in the past 3 weeks I have been blocking at least 5 calls a week. This will be another one. Am finding Reverseaustralia a very helpful site. Makes me wonder if this volume of spamming is what others are experiencing. Surely the Government and Telstra can do more?

Lesson from an ex employee if it rings and it's someone you don't know don't answer.
If it's important they'll leave a message, if not they won't, so just place number on your list of barred numbers.

Received call. Install an app called “Truecaller” and it’ll cone up if a spam number calls. I swear by this app. Have now blocked the number

I blocked this number after 2 unanswered calls and the number still called again

Came up as Potential Fraud obviously didn't answer

There still at it. Number has been calling me on & off since May 20. They never leave a message and won’t speak unless you identify yourself on the answer. Starting to enjoy reporting them. Thanks Reverse Australia for the platform

They said I contacted them to do a paid survey and I meet the criteria and they will send me $150 if I give them bank acc And answer some questions um NO THANKS!!!

I spent a few minutes and responded to reasonable question about intended travel after CoVid. I hope that results from surveys like this help our hospitality industry recover.

Have at times received over 50 calls in a 24 hour period. I don't answer and if the caller can't be bothered to leave a message then definitely don't answer. Fed up with the extreme number of calls.

Suspected spam comes up so didn't answer it has rung two more times which I ignored will now block it.
