This person pretended they were the police

Someone called Wally Archer claimed to be "from Neighbourhood Watch" which I was very suspicious of as NHW don't cold call. I believe he was a rep of Countrywide Austral and was actually calling to sell doubtful advertising packages in a pamphlet of some sort called QLD Streetsmart handbook which is published by Countrywide Austral and which the telemarketer claimed "educated school children". According to other reports on this website see 0481 616 258 Countrywide Austral telemarketers typically misrepresent themselves and have other bad practices so I suggest being very wary. I specifically asked in what capacity did he represent Neighbourhood watch and he demurred and went straight into his spiel. Why do so many telemarketers misrepresent themselves and their services? I have been a telemarketer and it doesn't have to be done in an underhand way.

Someone claming to be from Neighbourhood Watch but I just said that I couldn't talk right now and hung up.

Trying to convince small businesses to advertise in crappy journals for community or service providers, eg Police, Ambos, etc etc. Just say no and hang up, or they won't stop annoying you

Said he worked with police in our neighbour hood watch and wanted to sponsorship a scammer for sure

Claimed to be representing a branch of the police force that produces a book on safe habits for teenagers. Was after sponsorship.
