Calling to ask for sponsors for a safety magazine

Called on my business mobile number. I didn't answer and blocked caller based on other comments here.

Caller: ‭0478 285 745‬

A young male asked “hi, is this (my business name)?”’
as soon as I said yes, he hung up.
I called back and heard an automated female voice.

Caller: Male

He asked me whether you are a business owner.
Says about neighborhood, drugs then magazine?

seems like asking money.

Got an automated music tone, nothing else

This number is now sending out text messages along the lines of
“We have package pending delivery click link to schedule it.”

As I haven’t bought anything on line lately I assume Phishing attempt.

Caller: Scammer

Recorded message claiming to be from the Department of Homeland Affairs saying a legal case was being prepared against me and an arrest warrant would be issued. I laughed heartily and hung up

Scammer. Same thing about neighborhood watch/ police watch bullsh*t. Took my number off my business fb page. Kept asking me if I would commit in paying for an add for their community book 370$ ish. Kept asking if I would commit to it. I said no send me an email. She took my email down and I never got an email. Saw comments on here definitely a scam.

Called my business number, didn't leave a message. Blocked based on comments here.

Caller: Australian man wanting to sell sponsorship for 'meth epidemic'

Some whistling semi-coherent young australian man asking for money to sponsor some sort of meth addiction in a community service brochure given out at schools. I'd be surprised if anyone takes the bait on this one, complete idiot.

message bank of female voice saying 'Thanks for calling back. Im on the phone alot and will try and call you back if you leave a message'

Same as previous comments. 'Are you the business owner' (for a Business name I no longer use and only have a PO Box for). Again, something about police and neighbourhood watch. Said 'thanks not interested' and hung up.

Caller: A female claiming to be a police officer

Be careful, I received a call from this number asking am I the business owner ( didn’t name my business )I replied yes. it was a female claiming to be a police officer, she said that they were hosting an event for women in blue and continued to say how hard it is for women in blue who have to deal with domestic violence situations etc.she was asking for support for female police officers and looking for sponsors for a journal they are releasing and prices starting from $380 - $860
When I proceeded to ask lots of questions and what she knew about my business she hung up.

Didn't answer read other comments and decided to block the number

A man names RAY just called me from this number, asked if I would be interested in sponsoring Police neighbourhood watch program, I asked if he could send me an email, he said yes, but didnt ask for an email address and hung up, Sounds like a scam to me.

Caller: Male, about 35, Australian accent

Wanted me to commit to sponsor a magazine for Ambulance officers in the area of my new business. Didn't give any details of sponsorship deal. Told him to send email so I could check it out and he didn't take my email address.
Think its a scam.

My son received a call and they stated that they were from police and wanted him to register his business for his rap music so that he would be able to assist them in a new project SUCKS

Caller: Male, white Australian. over 40.

Male guy called me and said my name. Told me he was from Police that he needed a minute of my time. He asked if he was speaking to the correct person by saying my business name. I told him yes, and asked if i could help.
He went on to say that he is trying to gather sponsors for a police event coming up and if I'd be interested in one of their "packages" that included advertising of my business. I thought something was strange because my Facebook page is currently blank as I only just started to set it up last week and didn't come back to enter details. He obviously hadn't looked at it properly. Given that the sponsorship wasn't relevant to me i wished him luck and said goodbye, but after I hung up the phone and though about it more it was pretty obvious it was a scam. He didn't speak very professionally, especially given he was supposedly a member of the police.

Caller claimed to be calling on behalf of Victoria Police asking for a $385 donation for a Streetsmart Handbook. Bit suspicious as to how they obtained my contact details as they quoted a business name from an as yet unpublished FB page. Caller wasn't too keen to provide a contact number. All very dodgy.

Be careful I just received a call from a very polite young lady, claiming to be calling on behalf on Newman Police, looking for sponsors for a community youth magazine for the town. My red flag was already up. I've since spoken to Newman Police and they advise me that they have not authorized anything as such. Google is showing this number as part of a scam from all kinds of law enforcement agencies seeking $ 🤦‍♀️
