got a call, woman speaking with some Indian accent, pretending to be from Telstra;
told me my internet will be disconnected because it has a virus which affects the whole network; when I asked what virus she couldn't say; then she asked me to turn my computer on; I said 'yes right', I'm going to report you; she was undeterred and said 'you can but you internet will be disconnected; at that moment I terminated the call

Indian accent telstra tec rang to say I had virus on my computer they detected.I said where u calling from,she gave me telstra ID,and street address and no of call centre in melbourne.Im with different ISP and she told me all internet still through Telstra?Told me to google validator and click on third link,then log on my email through it and read results.I knew fake from start,and made up all fake porn video pop ups im seeing giving graphic details,and still she wanted me log in.Oh u only need voip account on netto show a non existing phone number,so never trust a genuine looking phone/mobile number

Claimed from Telstra and my link was down and PC was hacked, typical remote access scam and at some point would ask for a credit card number.

I said if they were from Telstra could they provide me with an account number or something as proof. nek minit they hung up :)

Had a call from woman today with Indian accent (bad static line) saying they had received error messages about our 'service' She was rude from the get go and when I said our line is fine she said "well you're not a technician Ma'am" At this point I just hung up. Some sort of scam

hate people who reach message bank but don't leave a message stop calling

Scam Call, I laughed and said "im not an idiot and im not falling for your scam". Told me to F*** Off and Hung Up. Calling Daily, same female person each day, cant take the hint!

just block it from your mobile or list it as scammer in your contacts and simply don't answer. Or have some fun with them.

Just got rang from a female Telstra officer saying I was illegally using their towers and data. Threatened me with a 90 day internet suspension due to 'Telstra' being Australias biggest telecommunations company. I hung up she rang back with the same dribble I told her in no uncertain terms to disappear and hung up.

I've always wondered what happens when an Indian scammer (naturally with a thick accent) calls a randomly generated land line number and a Australian of Indian decent answers the call. Does the scammer back off or is it a free for all - all bets are off, business as usual.

Buy a Telstra Guardian phone and nuisance calls will stop.

Scammers - "Telstra" Technical Support - You have a virus on your computer. They call regularly, they must enjoy the chat with our answering machine because they keep calling despite being blocked - scam the scammer!

Hi if any help I got a Telstra guardian phone set which you can block callers with, I have not had one call put through as all scam calls were intercepted by the phone. Worth the money, good luck

Rang twice in a row, hung up when I first answered so didn't answer 2nd call. When I rang the number back, recorded message said the number was disconnected. Sh*ts me off when my landline is supposed to be on the NO call list.

Had 3 calls off this number, answered the third one to be told ‘there is suspicious activity on my internet accout’. I asked them who my internet provider was and why they didn’t call me to inform me of this information. He then wanted me to access a website and I hung up. There was heavy background noise of other people talking, it is a complete scam! Be careful!

Said they were with Telstra and that a lot of error messages were showing up from their end and they threatened to cut my internet until it was resolved. Very hostile but not really any different from the last time I actually spoke to someone in Telstra. Said they were there to help and used remote access. Asked me to check email and bank account details as they said they didn't have access to the details on the screen. I declined, went to the next 'supervisor' who then tried to get me to obtain Microsoft licence as Microsoft would pay for it. Just wanted bank account details and I refused again. Got very angry and said my computer would stop working and that I had wasted their time and hung up!!!!!!!!!!!!
