This is Amazon scam. I got the message from this mobile phone saying my order has been confirmed for buying an Apple MacBook pro at a cost of $2969.99 and if not ring the number 1800 491 590. I knew it was a scam after checking with Amazon and all relevant credit card transactions. But to test, I decided to ring the number. The guy with Indian accent asked if my email address is such, such. I said no. Then he asked me the security code from Amazon sent to my mobile phone. I forgot that I am talking to the scammer so I told him the code. He asked again and I told him the code. The 3rd time, when he asked I became suspicious because normally just once is enough to check who owns the phone. I asked him why he asked many times. He said to enhance my security. I said I cut the phone. He said no no in a panic mode. But I cut the phone.
Later, I found that the password for my Australian Amazon account has been successfully altered. I think the true story is like this. Somehow the scammer knows my email address and my mobile phone. They guess I have Amazon account. He logged into my Amazon account when I talked to him on the mobile phone. Amazon asked him if the PC he used is safe. The security code I gave him helped him get out of this security gate. The second security code helped him to change the password. But before playing with fire, I put a OTP, once-time-password, to log in my account using 2 factor authentication. He needed a 3rd security code to disable the OTP. I was lucky that I did not loose money and decided that in future I will not talk to the would-be scammer because I am not good at this.
