In Sydney, yesterday, I gave a person $200 at the casino in Pyrmont. He said he would pay it back when his army salary gets paid into this account shortly. He said he had just returned from a tour in Afghanistan. Seemed like a genuine guy and maybe his story is true. He said he had post traumatic stress.

I didn't expect to see the money again (I assumed he would lose it playing). I was however surprised he left without saying goodbye. So today, out of curiosity I googled the phone number he gave me which was 0429 336 224 and I found this forum. He called himself Mike and then later Michael Cook.

Maybe it is this person: https://www.cairnspost.com.au/news/cairns/michael-thomas-cook-alleged-fraudster-who-targeted-small-businesses-remanded-in-custody/news-story/e8343265a418685ee61cc21ae9cfdcd5

I wonder what the truth is. And strangely, if he is an ex serving member of the Australian army, I wonder if he is ok. Despite these deeds, he may actually be in need of help.

Caller: "Michael Ryan"

same as everyone else's story-- he was in Hawthorn today (17/08/22) and gave me the same "locked-in keys" story. I felt bad since he seemed legit because he offered all these "details" about himself but when he didn't come back 20min later, I looked up the details and found this page. Here's the information the he gave me, most, if not all, is probably fake:
"Michael Ryan
Dh#1342898G
Rego#UXQ282
48 Orion St
St Kilda
Borrowing 270.00
will repay 15mins
(illegible signature)"

I guess it just goes to show, you should never have faith in humanity lmao
I will be obtaining the CCTV footage from our business and have already filed a police report.

He just came 5 minutes ago.. With a same story..
He smells alcohol all over her body.. Brought some paper and said that he's the manager of lorna jeans and he left his bag in the shop, and wanted to call lock smith.. And he said is it okay to borrow $390 to pay the lock smith and he'll be back in 15 mntes to pay me back..
He said i can take a photo of his driving license, phone nmber etc..

And lucky i decline his offer..
Because it's feel strange for me,
So when he's gone i try to search lock smith number and match it with the number he called.. But it show up different..

So i try to google that number, and saw that 6 complain..

It happened in yogurtberry, george street, sydney

He came into my store on Bridge road in Richmond. He seemed like a nice guy who needed help with getting his stuff. He gave the same story and I fell for it! It happened yesterday (5/4/16 at 7:30pm) He first asked to use my phone to call the locksmith, and then asked for $250. I felt bad for the guy and I am such a trusty person. After he called the locksmith (called 'him' 4 times) he told me it would be $370. Stupid of me I gave him the money thinking he would come back. I don't even want to call the cops because I feel so stupid
