Seems they are trying this Scam again in 2017.

'Hi BORIS, your recent payment to Telstra has failed. Please pay the full amount at Telstra.com/myaccount or reply "1" 8AM-8PM Mon/Fri AEST if you need to talk to us.'

I don't have accounts with Telstra.

I had the same message, all of my accounts are paid in full. This appears to be a scam.

I got the text today 'HI CLARE, your recent payment to Telstra has failed. Please pay the full amount at Telstra.com/myaccount or reply "1" 8AM-8PM Mon/Fri AEST if you need to talk to us.
I contacted Telstra via APP 24x7 and the rudest Telstra employee told me to 'ignore the SMS as it wasn't from Telstra'..

I got the following SMS:
Hi HAMISH, your recent payment to Telstra has failed. Please pay the full amount at Telstra.com/myaccount or reply “1” 8AM-8PM Mon/Fri AEST if you need to talk to us.

I replied "1" and a robot pretending to be Telstra called back immediately. It asked me to call 1800 816 025.

Now I'm worried because I responded. I rang Telstra (India) on 132200. They requested a block on the number, but I don't know if it's actually blocked or if I'm still vulnerable.

I am with Telstra but my account was paid up and I verified this online. Definitely a scam.

Text came through on my mobile offering free sim card upgrading from 2G before Dec 1. Exact wording was "Hi its Telstra, 2G Network is closing 1 Dec. To send you a free SIM card please confirm your address. Reply 'CALL' 8am-8pm M-F AEST we'll call you back." Not sure if this is legitimate so will pass on it unless I can confirm it to be authentic.
