finalized a purchase using Westpac and they messaged me with a confirmation code (the site was asking for one) i entered it and the purchase failed i locked my card but am not sure whether it was a scam or not just be cautious

SCAM ALERT: Received a text "WESTPAC: NEVER SHARE THIS CODE! To complete your online payment on your card ending XXXX for AUD 2070.93 at SP BATTERY MATE enter this code: XXXXXXXX." Scary as they knew my mobile number, last 4 digits of my Westpac card and a previously used vendor? I have a suspicion that my wallet (and phone?) may have been 'skimmed' at Sydney airport yesterday. BEWARE!!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM Got text message claiming to be from westpac. Gave me one time passcode to complete a $500 ikea purchase. Not me. I dont shop there.

Fake: Message from westpac saying to enter the code to complete gofundme transaction.

Send a message with authentication code. I was purchasing product online and the code finalised the payment. I have a receipt from the business saying payment was successful, and no strange transactions linked to my account. However pretty sure it wasn’t my banks mobile.

SCAM TEXT/SMS:

Bank of Melbourne : To complete your online payment on your card ending ************(last four digits) for AUD (amount) at SmartGlocal enter this One Time Password: (number).

No link, but potentially some type of information validation. Always check with your bank directly and look at your transactions.

Caller: Xsolla (EFTs payment service)

can be legit too. i ordered a game and they use xsolla (a russian/US based computer game payment service), and they used this number.

If you bought escape from tarkov, you'll expect this. if you didnt, then thats when you can get skeptical.

Scammer. Do not respond to or follow any of their instructions.
