I received a text message from this unfamiliar mobile number over the weekend using my name and advising me of a job search appointment with some mob called "ATWORK"??? If it were the government then the number should say "SERVICES AUSTRALIA" or "CENTRELINK" etc but it does not. This has triggered my anxiety and I'm so sick of shonky practices that I'll probably remain feeling unwell all week.

I got a message from them on a Sunday morning to check my WorkforceAustralia.gov.au inbox, which I don’t have, any legit messages from the government are “do not reply”. As the previous comments are dated 2020, the caller has obviously resurfaced again.

They are scammers i all ways getting sms messages please do not answer them they only be after money i rangthe number and it is saying it is disconnected

This might be legit, except this number sent me a text last week addressed to Lauren, and I don't live in Devonport. I also haven't signed up to get ANY text messages from the government.

Don't recognize this number and when I tried to call I received a "This number is disconnected" msg. I like many have been hammer with a flood of dodgy parcel/video problem txts and put no faith in a msg from a number which isn't legally recognized as connected..Suspension and caution make me call Spam/Hoax on this.

To the person who posted the very helpful post about it being a legit government number, it is still unsolicited spam because I never signed up for JobActive and the number comes up as "disconnected" when I try to call it. I have also texted back with "UNSUBSCRIBE" to no avail. I do not want to go to their website and create an account just to tell them to shutup. They are behaving just like a scammer in this regard and have clearly pilfered my number from somewhere they shouldn't have.

This is the text i received. I don't know what is that requirement or what payment or what issue. I read some people talking about employment and education and skill depts. I'm a full time worker and have nothing to do with the dept of education. Also, i don't have any payment issues. To the people who think this is not a scam, please think again.

No this is a scam they wrote to me as the job network provider when I have completed all my requirements. They get young teens and twenty year olds to harass others with these numbers and make up that you haven’t done requirements but it’s a scam they just try and annoy and harass people on benefits. Theyre based in regional nsw

I had a call from this number this morning and it was a recorded message saying that my Amazon account was due for atomatic renewal. I don't have an Amazon account. If I didn't want to renew then press "1" - I just hung up.

I have an Optus ZTE phone provided by Job service provider APM Maddington, this telephone number plus APM contact is permanently in my messages conversations category under notifications.

Is this illegal bugging or invasion of privacy ?

I was not informed of content and purpose before accepting this phone or permissions ?
