Been recieving SMS from 0419 445 424 since Oct 2014. Went to a Telstra Shop to check. Apparently, the account belongs to somebody in NSW.

I am in Melbourne and using an Optus prepaid.

confirmed SCAM. do not pay any money to these people.

received a message today to pay overdue account, not my account number. Contacted Telstra live chat to discuss but got very little information from them. They couldn't even tell me if they thought it was a scam. In fact they said they had sent the message.

Just blocked it as I've been getting messages all year addressed to 'Scott' regarding an overdue account. Thought it was a scam and seems I was right.

Second message in a week saying my Telstra account is overdue and I need to pay, little funny since I am with Telstra but on PREPAID! When Telstra sends a message it comes up as being from 'Telstra' not a random number. Hopefully nobody gets sucked in!
