Australia Post - Digital Mailbox verifcation. when logging on to the Australia Post Digital Mailbox site, a text message will be sent with a code from this number to verify your logon. You will see it on your call log on mobile phone not as a missed call but as a text message sent to you...

Yep, Evernote, Yahoo and probably many other services that support two factor authentication. Usually the service will identify itself in the text as the one who is providing the code.

This is definitely Microsoft verification trying to contact. It is not (intentionally)spam.

NO, no, no! I received a security code from this number when I was registering for a MS Account. I was installing Windows8.1 at the time. I had to take the 6 digit code from the SMS and type into the box on my computer screen. This phone number is 100% legitimate, guys.

The number is legit for authenticating online services.. Blizzard uses it, Microsoft uses it, etc.
I'm just commenting to clear up the confusion. I searched the number after I realised two very different services (both legit) used the same number.
I assume it's like a Aussie "drop-number" for American services.
If you are receiving unsolicited messages from the number, it is not the phone number you need to be worried about. Someone is trying to use your number for the process. Either ignore, or attempt to find and contact the service named in the message, and inform them that you did not request the service.

Nothing suspicious. This number is used for SMS authentication by Microsoft and Evernote. You have to put those numbers to verify your account.
