This number sent a text said “please call me back right away. It’s an emergency i need your help!” Then when i called the guy was swearing at be like a crazy person. Be careful!

I also received the same call but had picked it up as the text was coming through. It appeared to have teleconference a number of people into the call as there were a number of voices asking who it was and what was going on - at the same time some one was screaming abuse and swearing into the phone. I listened for a very brief period and then stated to all on the line that it was a scam call, to hang up immediately and block the number from their phone and that I had reported it to authorities.

From a google search, it appears there is a "Comedy call app" that you can purchase that allows you to make calls to random people quoting an emergency. I have reported this incident and the app information to a number of authorities.

I work in Emergency services and these people take up a lot of resources, time and money. Hopefully they will be tracked and fined.

Same as above. The exact wording of the message was "Please call me back right away. Its an Emergency i need your help!" The message was received at 2am. Very up setting.

At 4.45am on 15 Jan I had a missed call from this number. I then received a text stating
‘Please call me back right away. Its an Emergency i need your help!’
However I didn’t call as I had a feeling I had called this number back before and had been yelled at on 28 Dec and it was quite late. Then googled the number and came across this thread. So please beware of this phone number.

Same as above. Caller phones and hangs up. SMS is sent stating there’s an emergency and that they need your urgent help. I didn’t call.
This is very distressing to receive so late at night and must be stopped.

Received text requiring immediate assistance only to contact conference call of people screaming abuse at one another great idea for a emergency service personnel, bloody nuisance!!

Received text same like others. No action as it was obvious a scammer.

Same as other comments, calls once then hangs up and a message comes through saying, "call back right away, I need urgent help".

Put phone on private and called it, and American voice said the number doesn’t accept private numbers.
