called left no message

I am receiving calls from this number on a daily basis, sometimes several times a day. No message left and no-one there when I answer. VERY annoying!!

Calls everyday , then hangs up with no message left .
If you call back no one answers.

I was told once that the reason these callers/auto callers ring, you answer and they hang up is for them to get a profile of you at your number. They know when you are home, when you are not. They then sell this information to other telemarketers (eg charities, political parties, etc) for a $ so that the next organisation can target their message or sales pitch when you are home and they don't waste time ringing empty houses etc. Hope this helps you. When they ring, do as I do. Store their number and name the number as "Do Not Answer", "Scam", "Nuisance", "Ignore" etc. I look at my phone now and know whether to answer or not. If number is new to me, I leave it ring out, Google it and most times it allows me to determine if it is a scam number or legitimate. If legit, I store it. Hope this helps your sanity!

If you call back, somehow it rates as a Premium call and you get charged for it. Telstra has a agreed to cancel the charges.

Said they were from Australia Institute of Research/ABS asking if I wanted to answer questions for a tax benefit. It is a scam dont give them any information.

Keeps ringing and hanging up

Hangs up when you answer, leaves no message when you don't, can't leave a message if you try to call back. Likely some call centre worker fudging their call stats.

Also just received a call from this number on landline, on answering in 2 rings caller hung up immediately

The caller has Indian accent, claiming to check if we are qualified for something I couldn't catch due to noisy TV (kids in school holiday). She asked if we are both under 60, combined income over 95k and if we have access to equity over 120k (or something like that) and hang up after that when I said no. Probably for some telemarketing.

This arsehole keeps ringing and hanging up as soon as I answer the call, regardless of how quickly I pick up the phone! Dodgy bastard!

Called, when I answered didn't speak. It seems from reading this page that this happens a lot.

I had the same thing with this number they rang earlier today I couldn't get to my phone so they hung up. They called back later I answered there was a few seconds silence on the other end then they hung up. I am blocking this number in my phone.

Scammer - "Harriet" said she was from the Australian Institute of Research, doing a "short survey" to see if I'm eligible for tax cuts.
