BEWARE!!
Caller to my mobile claimed to be collecting money for Simply Energy - 1:30pm on a Saturday. Seemed like a well-spoken Australian Male. Asked for me by name and then claimed that I owed them money on an outstanding bill. I have never had an account with simply energy and do not owe any energy company money.
I said "not me"
They claimed they spoke to me 10 days ago - "Not me"
They claimed I had already made a payment of $150 and they were chasing the balance - "Not Me"
Then Said "Ahh I can see you already have a credit default here" - "Again - NOT ME!"
At which point I hung up.
I called back and got "This is Sophie, how can I help you" - no company name, sounded like a call centre in the background.
I have reported it to Simply Energy to confirm it is a scam and not identity fraud.
In my experience....debt collectors do not work on Saturdays. The only people who do work Saturday for energy companies are their emergency lines. The mention of a default was a scare tactic, which I'm not falling for, because I manage my finances very well and have never defaulted on a bill in 35 years.

Debt collectors I think, they call off different numbers all the time and this was one of them! I answered , took 5 seconds to get a response and it noisey as hell in the background. I hung up straight away.

If you don’t know who it is perhaps answer the phone rather than living a life of fear and anxiety/ seriously what f*cked up world we live in that we have to google who it is in order to answer !! What are we so afraid of ? Or are we hiding or living in the shadows like we’re so important and busy - il give you a tip if someone you do not know calls answer and if they ask you “ hi can I speak with John “ just tell them no johns unavailable can I take a message . And you know who it is /. But really my point is why do we accept fear and living with fear as though it’s nornal ? Because everyone has a little fear ? Let me ask you .... do you know everybody to make that statement ? whatever

1.Why call me with a phone number ?? if the phone call is from a company,should have a landline number right??
2.I never give out my work phone number to other ppl,but somehow my wk phone number on their list.

Called at 2pm on a Saturday? No voicemail ( i swear they hang up before it even gets to voicemail) Just another number to block from these scammers.

PANTHERA FINANCE!!!What they are doing is illegal debt collectors cant call on weekends and after i certain time and they have been harrassing me calling me at 7-8 pm and 5-6 am during the weekdays and weekends aswell. Im filing for bankruptcy and suing their ass!
