A man calling himself "Sam" rang using this number: 0402 192 140 claiming to be acting on behalf of APOL Policing. He was looking for businesses to be listed and advertise their product/service in a Australian Police Magazine. The background noise indicated it was a call center. He was after an email address to prepare and send a email detailing their services. Very professional sounding, however a dangerous scam.

Had a lady call me today asking for me to advertise my business in the Apol police news to help support sapol.
Told her I needed to talk to my husband about it and she said to check it out on the sapol web site and she'll call me back in a couple days!!!
I'm glad I googled this number and found out what Robbie said above...
These scammer people really piss me off using Sapol's name to make you feel guilty if you don't give!!!!

I have received a call from this number today however I got the phone call about 1 month ago asking me to support the local police with Bookkeeping apparently they were using someone in this area but they moved to Melbourne. I took sympathy on them and said to send me info, so they did, and I said I couldn't afford it, but they sent me an invoice anyway?? What the?? They are good very good so, I called the Police and they told me it was a scam and not to hand over money at all. Well I wasn't going to anyway but yeah, there you go. He was very pushy the man who rang me and made me feel guilty as.

had the same as Robbie, i had to check with partner first, asked for an e-mail and was told it would take an hour to compile and he'd ring me back in half an hour to confirm we were interested, 4 hours latter, no call so i thought i'd check the number out and here i am.

Same here. But as soon as I told him I am just an admin, and requested him sending me an email to show my boss, cant giving him our credit card number on spot, the caller got uninterested, and hung up on me.
