Super cold callers who are asking for TFN and Super account numbers to try to find lost Super!! This is illegal! Report to ASIC and say no and hang up! You can search on your My Gov for your own super funds as all are linked to the ATO and your TFN. It is another AMP lurk to hook people in!

Caller: Superannuation Related

This number messaged me after a phone call I received saying something about the government and changes to my superannuation. It was strange they wanted to know my age and they kept saying my full name. It freaked me out so I hang up and blocked all the numbers.

Said they would sort my super out. I didn't want this but later sent a message saying someone would call me the next day to sort it out. I have nothing to sort out............

Absolutely fabulous comment ...this is exactly what happened. How dare they bombard people during strict covid lockdowns. Thanks for posting such an informative account of what happened. It mirrored my encounter all the way. I clicked helpful on your message but it is not recognising it.

Caller: Superannuation Scammers

I'm almost certain this is some type of scam. They called me saying there was some sort of issue with my superannuation but it was extremely vague and they have no affiliation with my super fund.

Caller: Claiming to be part of an Australian Super team and calling regarding a government update

Unsolicited call from 0480 008 747 saying it was regarding my Australian Super and a government update for all supers. Seems like a scam since all your information can be found in your My Gov account. Do not give out any information!

Initially asking for a “Bob.” I informed them they had the wrong number and they said they were calling everyone regarding a government Australian Super update.

Asked 3 questions regarding age range, employment status, and if over 8 years in Australia. Kept insisting for my full name. Did not give it. I said I was not willing to provide any information. They said they would send me a text with their company details and schedule a call with one of their advisers/agents the next day.

Later received the following text from a different number 0401 774 563. “Thanks for your time today. I have arranged for a representative from Superannuation Advice Australia to contact you.

All the information found in the text is available in the website they mentioned but there is no reason to for me to receive a call from them. I do not require the services they provide nor did I ever give out my number.

Follow up SMS for a cold call wanting to discuss my super and provide a lost super check. Unsolicited call.
