Have had a real problem with these guys, they tried to tell me that i had a credit card debit to GEC. I have never had a credit card. I asked what address they had and they told me an address I have never lived at, told them that and they told me that all my other detail added up and i asked them what details, My DOB was incorrect and my former addresses were incorrect. Even though i told them that they still harrass me and demand that i pay the $3000 odd credit card bill even though i have never had a credit card. Told them sorry not going to pay for something I have never had, then she told me i can put you on a payment plan, they really don't listen have now blocked them on my phone. Still don't know how they got my number as have only had it for a year, it's private and it is in my partners name.???

This is definitely Lion Finance - don't return their calls. they won't tell you anything unless you give them all your details. Also, even if you aren't who they are looking for, they will keep ringing you no matter how many times you explain you aren't that person or it isn't their number. The are low life debt collectors who harass, bully and intimidate people into paying them. If you owe a bank etc money, negotiate with them as you will never pay Lion off - they charge 25% interest on your debt. They use a vast array of phone numbers, both land lines and mobile to catch you and they will never leave a message except if they send a text.

Pretty sure the banks sell debts to this company that chase them... For those who definitely do not owe money to accounts, then I would be afraid to call them and advise them that they probably have the wrong number.... for the rest of you, you probably have bad debt (ph bill you never paid due to moving homes, or credit card account that turned bad) - Pretty sure company is called Lion Finance - I may be wrong, but i'd still be looking into the matter - Just don't give out ANY personal details until your 100% sure whom you're dealing with.

I got a message telling me my account was overdue from St George - my account was indeed overdue

I had the offer of a discount on a debt repayment call. I asked them to send me a statement for the debt in question and never received anything. They still call but I ignore it.....so annoying though

This company has called me asking for a Mohammad Islam for over a year now. Don't know anyone by that name. Just sent me a text today asking me to call a number. Sounds like a scam!

Got a message from this number 0400 767 778, "Please contact Diane today on 1300 314 443 and quote reference XXXXXXXXXXXX". I rang the 1300 number and got an answering service asking me to leave my name and contact number. I'm guessing it was spam and phishing for more details so when they ring me back they already have my name.... Sounds suspect.

I got a sms from this number yesterday said that i owe a $346 for unpaid Telstra bill that was almost 3 years ago.I never overdue any amount from Telstra.It looks like scam to me.

Just got an SMS from this number to call back on a 1300 number regarding a personal business matter??? Suss??

Fake Debt colllectors - scammers and spammers.

I got a text message on my phone this morning telling me I had nearly $3000 owing for some collection house. and they were offering a discount & I had to call (07) 3017 3877 for further info and quote a number.... sounds suss to me. Anyone else had that?

I can see many comments about everyone having the common problem of receiving these St George Text messages. Has anyone got a solution to stop these text or who to call to get these to stop?

Yep me too, from St George have never had an account with them!

keep getting these SMS's also pretending to be ST George bank asking for overdue payments. If its a scam I am not sure what the angle is.

I recieved a txt saying that I had ABC repayments overdue and to settle the costs into an account - they made it sound like debt collectors. I haven't had an "ABC" acct whatsoever.

I used to think this was just a reminder from St. George, but I recently receive a message from this number telling me that a BOQ payment was overdue. I don't bank with BOQ.
