Indian just called us saying he was from the Victorian Government and that an electrician was booked to change all our halogen downlights to LED's on Monday. Claimed to have our address as well. Hubby got a bit cross! Don't think he'll call back but if he does we will ask the name of the electrician and report to Government. Unfortunately there will be some all fall for this scam.

11/02/2021 - 7 calls in one day, told them to stop calling, how do I register a complaint about this company?

Indian voice continually calling my mother, several times a day, with scam about LED's lightbulbs from 'the government'. It's harassment.

Caller: fake government scam

They rang me Saturday night about installing lights on behalf of the government in which i politely declined and proceeded to get threatened by the caller until i said excuse me in a firm voice.

The free led replacements for halogen down lights is not a Scam it is completely genuine and I have been doing this for around 18 months under the VEET scheme having installed over 20,000 free. The only real shame about this is the tactics the Indian call centres are using which is annoys the hell out of a lot of people.
I personally do not use call centres and only advertise in news papers or do referral work. The scheme requires electricians/contractors to do this work and the biggest problem we have is getting people to believe it is a genuine offer. As there is not a lot of money for each light that is changed and labour cost are high in Australia this is why some companies use call centres.

I get these LED light calls weekly. Usually from a blocked number. I’m getting that irate with these scumbags I now hurl obscenities at them until they hang up.sometimes the ring on an (03) number. Today I received two calls from these scum bag Indians trying to offer free LED lights. The first was a blocked number, the second an (03) number. Both times I sprayed as much profanity at them as I could before they hung up. I was that livered I decided to ring the scum bags back on the (03) number to continue giving them a spray and the number was an old lady’s number who didn’t know anything about the calls to my phone. These scum bags are cloning numbers

Called about changing LED lighting, twice a day for over a week, am a shift worker, always waking me. Started as mobile numbers and now private calls. Wish they would stop, told them am not interested. So frustrating.

This fellow rang tonight...( very hard to understand) when told I was on the DO NOT CALL list he couldn't get off the line quick enough..

This number rang and didn't leave a message. my answering machine recorded the number so I've googled it. I have a tracer on my line from Telstra now. I just press a key and it is traced. They deal with them.

I have received three calls from this number and each time I call back it says the number is not connected. I put a block on my phone so hopefully now they'll leave me alone!

The day before yesterday I received 7 calls about the led lights and1 about the free shower heads. Several more calls yesterday. I am 84 years old, and can well do without this stress. How do I stop these people!!

Caller: Indian voices, mail and female, with Western names

We have just received our 5th call of the day from these morons; we had 4 yesterday, all at evening meal time. We just can't get through to them that we had our lights done 5 years ago, so now we resort to very nasty swear words, but they still call back 10 minutes later. All calls show as Out of Area. How can I block these calls? We are on the Do Not Call register too; that's a waste of time.

Several calls every day, often at meal times. Initially I said we are on the do not call register and said to stop calling. Today as soon as he said what it was about I gave him a hard blast on a referee's whistle. I wonder if that will stop the calls.

Just got a call. Again about downlights. Unfortunately my husband booked these people about 3 weeks ago. They didn't turn up. Then ring today and announced that they were coming tomorrow. When told we already had LED lights he announced that he would come and inspect them! He hung up on me when I said no.

Same deal with the original number that rang. When you ring it back, no-one is there.
