This is the Red Cross Blood Service number. If you find the calls annoying, call them back and let them know. They really don't want to put people off donating, so they will stop calling, or you can request to receive reminders less frequently.

Shame to see so many ppl whining about such a great cause. Just remember if your ever pregnant or in need of treatment for cancer etc not to complain then. Spread good will and pay it forward ppl!

Red Cross, love these guys and all but they definitely need to call less frequently. It's getting to the point where it's borderline harassment.

I agree with you - Australian Red Cross have to stop soliciting every month or it totally puts me off. I have good intentions and will do it in my own time as I understand and know the process. Harassing me will just put me off. In fact, contrary to what people here keeps commenting, tell them and they will not ring you - it DOES NOT work. They will stop ringing for 1 month after I say so then start every month again. I am considering reporting them for abusing my private information due to this harassment. I agree this is for a good cause, but they need to have to capacity to record "do not call" when I told them so. It defeats the purpose as I will just block their number permanently.

I was called by this number and a man with a deep voice threatened to rape me and my two daughters so I hung up. Who are they and how do they know me and my family?

This is not true. The call centre is actually operated by Red Cross Blood Service staff, and there is absolutely no $$ incentive for booking appointments.

They have been ringing every fortnight even when I told them I would get my other family members to phone and make an appointment. I know they need the donations but just stop ringing. I am no longer able to donate

Guys, you miss the point. People should give blood if they possible can. If you can't ring back and let them know and they will take you off the call list. If you can do so and use these as a reminder for every 3 months. I now their number and am thankful for their service.

Yep, another one here that thinks that Red Cross are harrassing me! They call during work hours, try to tell me they've booked me an appointment already for my next donation (uh, scuse me?) and get shirty when I say I work full time and I will call in my own time IF i want to make a donation of blood. Seriously, there are other ways. Stop harrassing me!

To all those complaining about repeat calls - I just phoned back this number, yes it was red cross, and they've marked my account (I can't remember what she called it) which basically makes my membership one where I donate at my own leasure, with no calls or reminders. They also offer a no call list, where they only send letters as reminders.

Caller: Red Cross I donate blood and the red cross are in dire need nationwide for blood donors! There is an urgency for A- and O- blood as people with O- blood type can only receive blood from an O- donor. A- blood donors can help A- and O- recipients! There is a massive shortage across Australia... they are desperate for donors! I gave blood recently and there was no one there! It's not harassment... they are in a critical phase. The only thought for me was if my child was in hospital and needed urgent blood transfusion and there wasn't any available...

Caller: Red Cross I didn't know the number so I didn't answer. Instead came here to check. Glad I did. I will call them back. I could not donate for a long time. It is about time I started again. Thankful I am registered with them.
